suggested options:
destroy entire crop? looks like better than a half pound.
prune out everything and hope for best?
Harvest today?
Mostly its on the sun grabbing (fan) leaves. All though not really heavily present, its still there in splotches. There are tiny areas where its on SOME bud trichome leaves. (are those the ones known as “sugar” leaves?)
There is no evidence of bud rot yet, but they would still need to cure.
This is an organic bat guano grow,is it possible to start flushing out with clear water now and harvest immediately with careful selective prunig out of anything I may find? Trikes have entered the cloudy stage but with less than 2% amber. (only 1-2 amber trikes pre area viewed.
If you are that close then go ahead and harvest, then wash your bud in a peroxide and water solution.
There’s a video of George Cervantes washing powdery mildew off of buds.
Can’t remember the ratio but @Myfriendis410 does
It’s one cup of 3% peroxide on five gallons of water.
Do the wash. It’s actually really easy & it works.
Don’t throw it away the hydrogen peroxide wash will work on mildew
Another great and timely post, thanks for taking the lead on this @Greasemonkey. I will be concerned about this in a month or two.
Also, thanks to @Myfriendis410 @Nug-bug @blackthumbbetty for chiming in and helping to educate all of us.
Man, I hope I don’t need to do this, it looks like it takes a “pair” to muster up the courage to dunk you hard earned buds into water.
I sure do hope that my White Widow does not turn into White Mold LOL
It took courage to try, for sure! Afterwards, they were no worse for wear. Just don’t agitate them too much in the h20, and use water that’s not too cold nor too warm (I used 68° water).
I have added your post and that of @Myfriendis410 to my harvest notes file for future reference, thx both of you.
@merlin44 Be careful with these WWs. If I remember, you too are experiencing very short bushy plants also. These plants got even bushier during budding to the point I was pruning anyway even though I’m 7 weeks into flower. It had to be done against everyone’s advice just to improve the air flow. I only have a meter square tent but am still using 3 oscillating fans. 4 plants turned into a meter square hedge that looks like it was stuffed into the tent. I never thought my first grow would be so successful…up until I saw the WPM. After reading the forum’s advice, I’m going for another week under so under very watchful eyes.
Thanks for the heads up @Greasemonkey, you remember correctly and I have been watching them very closely and monitoring air flow.
Dude! Mix 1 Tablespoon of peroxide per gallon and SPRAY THE PLANT! Really soak it down! The mildew will melt off. You do NOT want to smoke powdery mildew. Trust me. I spray many times during the grow and it is the most benign and harmless stuff to use on your plant but it works! I use it on spider mites too.
Take one branch when you harvest it and dunk it in a 1 gallon jug with 1/4 cup of peroxide in it and leave it for 5 minutes. Rinse it off and then bury your nose in the branch: it will be the most flavorful cannabis you ever smelled! And it just gets better.
My stash stays a lovely green color months longer than it did before washing in peroxide and I believe there was probably continual low level mold growth in the jarred weed. This is just one of those extra steps you don’t get from store bought weed.
Excellent @Myfriendis410, I have added that to my list of tasks and actions.
Again, Excellent!
First of all cause of powder mildew is soil has been to wet for too long let us dry out first and it will kill the mildew, use cotton balls or something spongey to soak up the water out of the soil quicker and or improve ventilation
