Day 3. Forgot to take any pictures. One seed had a root about 1cm. Planted in a 3 gallon grow bag.
Day 5. Last 2 seeds still have not sprouted a root. But the one that sprouted a root first came up today.
Day 6. Last two seeds still have not sprouted a root. One looks like it will any time now. The other is showing no signs yet. The three planted are all up now. One has just emerged.
Welcome aboard!!! Looking good so far! #5 looks to be starting a root. I’m not recommending this next part, but I’ve done it twice successfully…
If #6 doesn’t do anything in a couple/few days (they can be stubborn), then you can use a pair of tweezers to gently squeeze on the ends. Don’t squish it, but just til it cracks. Put it back in the paper towel for another day or two. If nothing happens, it may be a dud.
I only say this because a couple of times I’d have normally trashed them and started over, but I only did it when I would have trashed them. Not as an eager beaver thing. Normally after a week to 10 days in the paper towel.
Nice. Welcome aboard. Loving the detail of the posts. I’ll ride along, I’m not much help but can be some cheap entertainment from time to time.
If you name your plants you have lot of characters to choose from.
Welcome to the neighborhood . I hope all your beans pop and thrive for you. I’m going to tag along
@beardless I am not sure what you you mean. I can say I was reluctant to choose this Strain because of the name. There are bound to be people that find it offensive, and there will be people that think I chose it because of the name. I picked it because it had attributes I was looking for. Sativa dominant, large yield, and did well outdoors. The drawback was the late harvest.
Days 7-9. No changes with last 2 seeds, and i neglected to take pictures of the 3 plants.
Day 10. The 3 plants are developing nicely. Just about ready to give up on last 2 seeds. Here in VA we can grow 4 plants, so I have a friend that is going to give me a couple of clones he has rooting now. That will give me 5 total if all 3 seedlings thrive. Will gift one of the clones if all thrive.
Day 11. They got to spend some time outside today. Still dipping into the 40s°F at night, so not ready to put them outside permanently yet. Last 2 seed still no root. Put the last 2 seeds in soil. Figure I got nothing to lose. Notified ILGM of the 2 seed that have not germinated. Sorry no new pictures.
Day 12. Heard from Claire in ILGM Support. She asked for me to plant the last 2 seeds anyway and see what happens after a week. Funny because that’s what I had done the day before. Cloudy and cool outside today, so kept the 3 girls inside today.
Sorry no new pictures today.
Day 13. Been a couple of days without pictures. So here are my 3 girls. Node 2 emerging. Going to pick up couple of clones today. Want to have 4 plants in the ground, since that’s our limit here in Virginia. Still no signs of life from the last 2 seeds.
Day 17. Missed a few days posting updates. There outside all the time now. Still getting a few hours of shade mid afternoon. Trying to gradually harden them off to the outdoors. Got a clone from a friend to round out to 4 (Virginia limit).
Started getting my grow spot ready. Will be using 100 gal grow bags. The space is a slight grade so i wanted to level some spots out for the bags. I also plan to cut the center out of the bags (not like i will be moving them) so tap roots can go down deep if they want. I also like to tinker with antique garden tractors. So there are pictures with 1960s Bolens (got 3 of them)helping me get the job done. I started by taking the top soil off and setting in aside. Then battled the rock hard clay, to get the spot level.
Nice work and dig your lil garden tractor. Have always liked them
