Well, one of the 3 I planted has just broke the surface but instead of digging down it popped itself right out of the rooter, helmet on and everything .she has a very healthy tap root going I was able to remove half the shell . So do I bury the whole thing again or do I leave the head above the surface?
plant with just head at surface. check if soil is too compacted…if so, change to loose dirt.
With a dome over it they usually will pop out of the shell.
I am really concerned about how wet the soil is…That’s going to lead to damping off of the seedling.
If it just sprouted you can remove and replant the peat puck. Do it in barely damp soil. It will wick away the excess moisture. Set the puck on a dry paper towel for a few minutes and it will remove some of the moisture too.
I had one jump out before. I buried the whole thing because the plant uses the friction of the media to knock the husk off. She turned out just fine
I found this and tried it out. I only do one seed at a time unlike the video.
Give it about a 30 second shake. No helmets since I started this.
Perhaps it allows the edges to soften up better.
Pop the shell off…
If it stays on , it’s a 100% death…
Pop the shell off , it’s a 50% chance that it lives…
Just try to give it 80% humidity with 70 degrees fahrenheit to 85 degrees Fahrenheit temps and you should be good to go…
Think of tropical rainforests…
That’s what they want… in vegg…
In flower , it’s a different ball game…
