Oh no just found seeds! I think?

6 weeks into flower and now im seeing seeds! Where did i go wrong? Did not see any indicators during preflowering. All pistills no grape sacks. All 5 plants have nice flowers on them but i’m seeing seeds across all five of them. Bad genetics? Nirvana white widow and seedsman bruce banger. I had a few stressfull events like temps reaching just under 90f for a week or so when it got warm here in central california. Also did some heavy defoliating about week 3 of flowering. Did i cause this to happen. Opinions would be greatly appreciated as i have the bug and want to continue growing but dont want to make same error. Not sure if i should just pull the plants or let them finish? Will the seeding eventually take over? Right now there is plenty of usable bud. Attached are pics of what i think are calyx splitting open. Im still a newborn in this growing game please help

Dude… if those grew up outside, it could well be NOT your “fault”. Pollen could have traveled on the wind/air from next door or a 1/4 mile or more away…

Not seeing anything but swollen bud calyxes. Nice and frosty; good color, lots of pistils. Pretty plant.

They are growing in a box in the garage. The intake air is from outside.

Thanks first time growing was feeling really good till i seen those calyxs splitting. I pinched one off and it had a shell in it.

Let them finish. As long as your not seeing any pollen sacs your not endangering yours or anyone else’s grow. It’s suck to have work the seeds out of it when it’s done but you will get some useable product. @QST_59 is right you probably got pollinated by a careless grower near by.

They were either stressed by the environment if they are inside or cross pollinated with a male somehow. By environment I mean things like too much heat or ANY prolonged light leak which can stress them badly and cause them to Hermaphrodite. My first 3 grows, I had seeds all the time until I learned that they better not stay above 85 for long and there better not be even a hint of light leak unless they are autos. Those pics tell me you’re still going to have decent smoke so keep growing my friend

Thanks to all! I will take all input and make adjustments. My box isnt light tight, and i did get up to 90f off an on for a week before i set up an AC unit to keep temps around 77f and last but not least my intake air is from outside so looks like i got what i deserved. Moving the next grow inside an getting a good light leak proof tent!

I’m like Myfriendis410, no manners just swollen calyxes. Don’t do like I did and trash the plant because I thought it hermit on me. I was 5 or 6 weeks in bloom and got all excited for a few seeds. As long as you don’t see yellow bananas, your ok.:herb:

@bruinsfan33 really a mile away? Congrats on your team getting to the finals btw.

Yes, like any pollen. Some studies show can travel multiple miles. I know cant wait. Wish it started tomorrow not Monday.

I’ve heard in some instances it can travel more than a mile depending on the area and the wind gust

Practice your germination on some bag seeds. If you’re new to growing, you’ll want to make sure you have some basics down before going to premium seeds.

Hi all. @Myfriendis410 Had a similar situation, outdoor grow, all from feminized seeds…Kushy Kush, Green Crack and White Widow. At harvest time, found about 6-8 seeds in two of the Kushy Kush plants. Kept them… not sure if those seeds would be Regular, or still feminized? Another poster on the forum suggested they’d still produce fem plants. Second Opinion? I’m grateful for the other posters good news, but just wanted a little more reassurance… Would the seeds still be feminized? Thank you

Could be but could have been random pollen from a male upwind. No way to tell.

Thanks @Myfriendis410. Think I will give the seeds to someone that can closely monitor them. Adding them in with a planned crop of 60 plants this year (from new fresh fem seeds) is only asking for trouble. Peace out, and thank you
