OG Kush from 4 year old seed

I haven’t been around these forums in a few years. Took some time to assist my aging parents during their last years of life. Now that I can engage in a grow project again, I located a few ILGM seeds I had ordered 4 years ago. Fortunately 1 OG Kush seed sprouted but one Strawberry Kush did not. The plant pictured was recently topped but is recovering nicely. It will be trained flat to best get light to most parts of the plant. It’s growing in a hempy bucket being fertilized using the Head Formula. Cheers.

That is a beauty for sure. Excellent that your 4 year old seed germinated. You must have kept them cool, dark and dry.

I was a bit surprised germination occurred. But I’ve heard of seeds much older sprouting, although viability of seeds does decline over time. And you’re right, although I did not put them in the refrigerator (something I should have done), they remained in my top desk drawer where it is cool, dark, and dry. I have a couple of seeds left and I hope I have time to grow them before they get too much older.

Thank you. I should mention it’s a testament to the quality of ILGM seeds that my 4 year old seed sprouted, especially since I didn’t store them optimally. Also, I’m really glad I kept my notes from previous grow projects going back 7 years. Reviewing them helped me hit the ground running again.
