Co2: yes, growing mini oyster mushrooms in tent

Im kinda new to growing attempted hydroponics last year and had a few issues like root rot and spider mites. This is my first soil grow and Im about 3 weeks from sprout tomorrow the 14th. My question is did i wait to long to add my nutrients? I will be trying reefertilzer grow 20-5-10. I have Cali dream (2nd picture) with yellowing tips on the cotyledons ive been watering about 500ml every 2-3 days. So i was thinking it meant overwatering or lack of nitrogen?
Also are these mushrooms an ok supply of Co2 to my tent?
What do you use for pest management and how often?

Any idea about the leaves turning yellow? Wrinkles on edges and brown tips?2nd photo and last 2

Your soil may have been a little hot for seedlings.
Sohum alone is kind of full of nutrients and more like super soil almost.
They should grow out of it.

Supplement Co2 actually does nothing for the average indoor grow. It really is only for large scale commercial grows with insane light levels.

You will also see new growth come in more of a lime green which darkens as chlorophyll develops in the leaf. You’re getting a bit of stretch; that 100 watt light doesn’t have the ‘footprint’ to cover all of your seedlings which is why.

FYI that light is not enough to flower out one plant much less the lineup you have.

I too would suggest nothing but water for some time.

Which light would u recommend?

Which soil would u recommend?

Your soil may be just fine. I have never tried it. But stronger soils are better if layered with something lighter like in this pic.

This way the roots get to the stronger fertilizers after gaining some age.
Seedlings are more sensitive to nutrient burn.
The ones named in the pic are examples using a popular brand Fox Farms.

You will need somewhere around 600 actual watts of quality LED’s to get dense flower in that space. HLG (Horticulture Lighting Group), Spider Farmer, California Lightworks, CHILled Tech are a few you can look at. The thing is with lights: you can’t cheap out. Couple that with deceptive marketing by some, it gets to be tough to choose wisely.

If it were my grow space I’d get 2 fixtures that draw 250 to 300 watts each: you can run one over small plants (saving $) and expand into the grow space and lights as the plants grow. I would not want to grow more than 3 plants in that space, but the yield is significantly higher.

I don’t recommend a new grower build his own soil. Fox Farms, Promix, Black Magic, and some others have soils constructed specifically for cannabis.

Sohum is good soil. As mentioned above only water for the next 4 weeks to 6 weeks. You should have enough nutes to 30 to 45 days if in 5 gallon pots. Water in a circle around your plant to encourage root expansion. Dont over water. I only water mine every 4 to 5 days depending on temps and humidity. I grow in Coast of Maine Stonington Blend which compares to your Sohum. ( Sohum being my second choice ). Ive had these girls transplanted for aboutv2 weeks now and have only watered once.

Any idea on pest prevention? I want to be ahead of mites and others before they start

Another question greg, should i start applying it asap and how often?

I’ve been using Growers Ally Crop Defender 3. I’ve used Grower Ally products for all my grows. Crop Defender is a insecticide, miticide and fungicide all in one. I usually spray once a week after the lights are off. If you have fans make sure the fans are off. It’s completely organic and can be used during veg and flower. Spray the whole plant down including the stock and top and under the leaves. Mixed at 10ml per gallon unless you have a major problem then its 40ml per gallon sprayed every 3-4 days. I’ve have no problems doing preventative sprays.

I’m not Is familiarized with jacks unfortunately. When I started using Growers Ally, I had to use a sprayer for fungicide and one for miticide. When they released the Crop Defender, it made it awhle lot easier. You can order a sample from their site for around $10 if I remember correctly.

I would wait a little bit. If you did spray them, it would be a very light spray since they are still young. Spraying them will add water weight to them and you dont wanna snap the stocks.
