So for my first grow im doing fem Northern Lights, and i was wondering how long it will be from germination to harvest? Im using a 5gal space bucket with cfls and leds for side lighting. Im probrably going to use fox farm potting soil with fox farm nutrients. Also, can anyone tell what my dry yeild might be?
How can anyone tell you a prevision of yield weight only by light , nutrients and light kind? It is very difficult also if someone posts some pictures of plants in final week!!! Anyway if you are a good grower and you don’t miss any growing parameters you can expect 1 gram for light watt. But only if you are an expert. But I think you are a new and so i advise you to read and learn all about growing before any yield prevision. Bye
Part of the problem calculating the length of grow is that on a photoperiod you set the length of the vegetative state.
You can let them grow as big as you want but generally most grows go from veg to flower at about 8-10 weeks from sprout.
Generally once you flip to a 12/12 light schedule buds will start forming in a few weeks and then you are looking at about 8 weeks to finish. @Docktor_Dank
In order for you to have high hopes of gaining any kind of good quality yield… you will absolutely need to change your space Bucket from a 5-gallon to like a 32 gallon …the biggest trash can you can find … if I’m understanding what you mean by space bucket …your grow room is actually the bucket… in a five gallon bucket you have no room to grow anything but maybe a quarter ounce of weed if you’re lucky …so I would suggest moving into the biggest trash can you can find and you could hope for maybe an ounce to 2 ounces if everything goes AZ should , maybe 3 oz’s if you keep your fingers crossed…
I got a quarter ounce from a half gallon bucket’s are you sure you don’t mean quarter pound ?
His actual grow room , is the bucket… look up space buckets…
Very cool , very small and very stealth…
Not a big yield though… especially not in a 5 gallon bucket…
The biggest trash can that he can find is gonna have the biggest yields…
If I were @Docktor_Dank I would find a pan to fit the biggest 32 - 56 gallon trash can I could find to fit underneath it to catch runoff water and suck residual water and I would drill holes in the bottom of that big trash can and put two 4 inch vents on either side of that trash can about 16 inches off the ground and fill the bottom of the trash can with 12 inches of fox farm soil and I would have one 6 inch extraction fan at the top sucking out all the hot air with one 450 watt LED hanging at the top… I would veg for maybe 4 weeks to 6 weeks and start to flower and build a little scrogg halfway between top of the soil and highest point of the light…
Sick setup… thank me later @Docktor_Dank
@peachfuzz
This is fricking awesome idea man…
Just make some great soil, set everything on timers and forget about it…
Come to water it 1-2 a week…
That will be my next winter root cellar set up…
Thanks
I already have my bucket built, but the brute can idea sounds good too. I have limited space and stealth is a must. But if i can gain some experience from it that will be fine with me ! But if people get such low yeilds with space buckets, then why do so many people use them?
For the reasons that you have stated… space , stealth , easy to use , cheap to build and usually they are only growing for them selves , so big yields aren’t important…
When ever I’ve seen people use 5 gallon buckets like you , they tend to take 4 buckets and cut the bottoms out of 3 of them so they can stack them to get more height…
I tend to go for big yields , so that’s why my advice was to move into a bigger container…
