So I started three girls back in March They were supposed to be my perpetuity plants, until they started growing like the weeds they are, and I had no where to put them. My first grow was just into flower, I only had one grow tent, and it was March in northern Illlinois. So I kept them in a small green house on my porch, until I had somewhere to put them. Kept the lights on and kept em in veg. They struggled a bit, and I took two and put them in my tent in May and one went outside in a large raised bed. I didn’t expect it to do well, animals and weather. But it survived, made it through a derecho whatever that was, and is massive now. And I literally put no work into this girl. Pure neglect. I’ve given her some cal mag and some stakes. That’s all. So it’s nearly October and I think I’m in week 6 or 7 of flower. Did I mention I am on the border of Illinois and Wisconsin? It’s going to get cold soon and I don’t know how much longer I have.
Any other growers around here with advice? I figure a few more weeks , at least. The stickiness of the plant is unreal. Details, well, seeds from Seedsman, it’s either a white widow or a Acapulco gold. Feminized. Soil, in veg for 10 weeks and in ground outside since end of May. Thanks all, look forward to making some friends and learning and helping all I can!@Kim2 sorry to break it to you but you have more than a couple weeks I would say. Pistills haven’t even thought of turning. That being said beautiful plant. Very big for our climate. I’m in pa so we get your weather most of time. It will frost here before Halloween. Better start making a plan. beautiful beast…bring her home
what plan do I make for a six foot plant? LOL I know I have weeks yet, it’s insane, it’s literally stick to your fingers sticky. But how do I protect it? .
Nice bush. I have been useing a cheep light weight plastic painters tarp from Lows lightly cover a night remove at dawn. Squarshes top buds a little but what can you do.
Thanks for the advice, just saw it’s going to be a high of 49 degrees on Friday. I’m looking for all the help I can. It’s funny, I was not invested in this plant until the last couple weeks, now I want to see it through to Harvest. I really thought it would fail so I didn’t care one way or another. I’ve been failing at my inside grows the last couple months So this gives me some confidence.
I also use i lightweight poly tarp. I also put two posts in as to take weight of tarp best i can
I guess I have been doing it all wrong would have been alot easer your way. What ever you did it seriously worked. Keep up the great work, finish comming soon pray for mild fall me too. Aside from the occasional cold snap we should finish ok. I have seen pics of these things in the snow out side.
That’s awesome! I bought a tarp today, and figure Tuesday night I will attempt to cover it. Now the weather says a low of 39 or so, we should be ok. She isn’t in the ground, way above it, so there’s that. Saw some pistols turning today!
Are you all growing’ can you show me yours to compare!
She is gorgeous, what does she look like close up, is she almost ready? Such an amazing plant
Thank you. Super lemon haze. I believe she has a week to two. I started flush last week. Exciting time of year. Your doing very well yourself! Frosty…
Update!!! I’m not good at the be Patient part! I don’t see any amber yet, and can never tell when it’s clear or cloudy.
See all those white hairs? 90% have to turn brown or red and recede back into the bud. Getting closer but still little ways out.
Looking very tasty though. Nice job
Couldn’t wait any longer, rain and frost this week. A few extra pics, it’s drying nice and slow. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks everyone, the encouragement helps!
Ugh. It’s full of seeds. What.
Glad to see you made it. Only tip I can give at this point is to keep those hanging branches in complete and total darkness untill you jar it up. It is supposed to consume the chlorophyll and and start the cureing process.
