So I got my light. Didn’t get the pre assembled cause I thought it would have instructions. That with instructions it wouldn’t be hard. What to do now?
And @dbrn32 can help you when you get stuck after the video.
Congratulations on your light @DrNoobThumb !
@MoneyPit @dbrn32. Thanks for the Video. Looks simple enough. Only thing is I don’t have the ability to solder or have ever done it. I guess it’s not required but recommended.
My neighbor snip’d my wires and soldered the ones that needed it fo me. So all I really have to do now is assemble
@DrNoobThumb I just put one together a while back and was a bit perplexed about the + and - feeds to the board. Just look at the ballast and it has those symbols on it.
@DaGoose yea. Looks like black and brown are positive. Blue and white negative and the greens are ground
I just built one today. I didn’t need to solder anything though. I just used WAGO connectors and some 18AWG solid 300V wire.
This is the pic of what pigtails to connect on the driver to the A/C power cord
Ya, you shouldn’t have needed to solder anything?
There were 3 wire that they recommended that you solder to keep them from fraying apart. Not required but my neighbor did it for me. Other than that it was super simple @dbrn32 @Sixpackdad
Hmmm, that’s kinda weird. Meanwell driver wires usually come tinned, and other wires should be solid. No big deal though, glad you’re in good shape!
That makes sense. You could’ve gotten by without them tinned.
Yea that’s what the company told me and the video I believe. It just said it was recommended. My neighbor had a gun and it was no sweat off his back to it. So I did it anyway. It was also recommended to trim a set of wires. Think they were on the cord side also. I didn’t do that. @dbrn32 the only wires I cut were the ones that plugged into the board
Cool you should be set
I’m not, sorry.
Is the light working bro? I cut the leads shorter for the power cord given they were too long for the waterproof connectors. Otherwise the outside insulation didn’t go into the connector providing better stress relief.
It’s all good and welcome to the world of QB’s…thanks to @dbrn32 for leading me out of the blurple jungle
@DaGoose yea man it’s working. Pretty simple. Just need a few things to build my hydro setup and I should be on my way to my first grow soon!
SWEEEET!
Do you have a killowatt to measure the light wattage?
