First time grower with two plants. Both plants have some big buds at the ends of the colas that are getting close to harvest but along the stem are many smaller buds. I don’t know what to do with them. Do I harvest along with the larger buds or are they useless? I doubt they will be mature when I harvest the top buds. I hate to waste the small buds so I’m looking for an opinion.
Many Thanks :grinning:

Depending on the small bud location you can leave them on the plant a bit longer, but even if you cut the entire plant down at once the popcorn buds will still “work” just fine. You can smoke them or make oil/butter with them.

You can selective harvest taking tops then raise plants or lower lights to encourage the lower buds to ripen up or as I do simply save them all for oil Like @Drinkslinger suggested

Thanks. When I take the top buds I’ll also try to cut back on some leaves.

I guess I asked a similar Q before. I’ll try to let the small buds mature but if that is not working I’ll harvest and hope for the best. Worst case is I use them for edibles.
This is a wonderful/helpful forum and I always appreciate how kind the members are.

Something that may help on future grows and maybe even here, is to provide side lighting that will help the buds grow much faster.

Yeah. I was hasty about giving a friend an LED grow light. I’ll see what I can do for the next grow. Thanks.

Was just reviewing your Journal and realized that I was so pointed to answering your question that I didn’t take time to Welcome you to ILGM ! Good to see you are getting into growing. It is really the only way to go if you really want to save money and get MUCH better weed to use. You are lucky to live in a state that it is legal to grow. I am living in a NON-friendly state for growing. We have some really good growers here and any problems you have, be pretty sure one of us has gone through the same thing at one time or another.

WW is a great starter grow. They are really forgiving of mistakes and give you good yields. A lot of people start on WW and are not sorry.

I am about 4-5 weeks from harvesting a Skywalker OG that is 21 days into flowering. It is here if you want to look at it. I mainlined it into 9 colas and it is doing pretty well. Skywalker OG is new here and becoming popular already.

Good luck on your grow. Jerry :us: :man_farmer:

Thanks again. I did pick the WW because it was stupid simple to grow.
It’s been an advenbture but I’m enjoying it.
Thanks again to all in the forum

Ha, I’ve spent more money on this hobby in the past year than I’ve spent on marijuana in my life. Probably more than I would’ve spent in the next 20 years. I live in an area where amazing bud is readily available. I do it because I love growing things, I love challenges, and I truly enjoy the learning curve. :+1:

I am realizing the cost. My electricity bill might have increased by a third.
Since I’m only growing two plants that is a big cost per plant.

I’m growing to see how it works and to celebrate the end of prohibition.

Yeah I have one they are really cool when you first get to see the Trichomes sparkling back at you and coming to harvest time see them ripening and starting to change to cloudy and amber perfect :ok_hand: enjoy.

I also found a loupe app for my phone.
I can almost see them now with just eyeballs.
