WEEK TWO
My first time growing weed, but I do garden as a hobby
(self proclaimed"Plantaholic") My plant info is what it is. There’s no turning back now in way of the soil I used or the size pots. Right?
My main concern is that I probably Google to much … I just need to listen to my plants like I’ve always done…
3 WHITE WIDOW AUTOFLOWERS.
I named each…
#1 Joy
#2 Aranea
#3 Nellie…
Tent; 4’W X 5’T X 2’D.
Lights; With all this technology saying how LEDs are one wattage in and one out. I honestly don’t know how much wattage I’m using . I’ve posted pictures of the light info below
.
Timer 18 hrs on & 6 off. No lights during germination. Lights @ 36" distance during first week then
(googled ) and started tweaking light height to find that"sweet spot" Due to the fact that I felt like the seedlings were stretching to much. I also raised the soil level up in the pots higher to surround the stems. Making them shorter and hoping to get some added roots. I also added a fan (breeze not hard wind) All in order to strengthen the stems.
Started two seeds in Jiffy organic pellets . My idea was that these pellets were nice and neutral in pH…Day two I replanted the seeded pellets into 3 gallon fabric pots.
(Googled and saw that Autoflowers should be in their forever pot to start )… Using Fox farm Ocean Forrest.(Goggled and I’m ok with the light and airy soil but freaking out over fear of seed burn
) I also purchased a meter. It reads moisture, light and pH of the soil. The pH keeps reading 7.5
Put another seed (Nellie) in paper towel to germinate just for giggles; went back next day and transplanted into organic jiffy pellet and then planted that into a three gallon. Again due to fear of seed burn and/or stressing it during a transplant:woman_shrugging:t3:…
Plants are now approximately a week and a half. I moved them out of the tent in our shop. We’re having a heatwave and there’s no AC in there. I brought them into the house. The frame and lights. I put a reflective wall around the plants but no roof/ TO HOT!. I’m still tweaking the light heights. I’ve raised them again because I feared to much heat and because… Well; I googled again …and my plants kinda looked bleached from the lights and I also felt like they needed to (maybe?) stretch some more in order to easily do some l.S.T. in the coming weeks??The temp outside is around 108 heat index. So even indoors I’m struggling to keep it in the mid to high 70’s. All the while trying to keep the humidity right. (Bye the way; What should I keep them at?) Now here I am. Week two… I do have other concerns that I’ve noted below .
Thanks for all your help. You guys rock!!..
Week 2. Two weeks exactly from the day that the seeds hit the soil. Plant 1 “Joy” 4.5" Only real concern is possible bleaching on first set of leaves. Plant 2 Aranea 4.5". She had a rough start. Her seed shell was stuck on her for the first few days after sprouting. A baby gate fell on her twice ( keeping my dogs at bay ) Oh and she got knocked over once
. She; Along with her sisters seems to maybe have bleaching on the earlier leaves? But also yellow spotting. (They all have same soil and watering schedule. No feedings as to date.) I’m thinking from her rough start? As the newer leaves come in I think they are healthier and less spots???
Plant 3 Nellie . 2.5" . Half the size of her sisters. She’s the one that was stared a day later in the paper towels etc. **Also the other two have the bigger lights overhead. Nellie has the smaller cheaper one. I’ve just swapped lights and now Aranea ( the yellow spotted one) has the cheaper light. Ok so…
Do I add food even though the soil seems to rich? If so what? Is four weeks the correct time to lst? Am I doing okay and should stop fussing? Are my lights to strong/close/far??? (Approx 30"up)Do I have enough reflective walls? Should I get a humidifier? (FYI I did put all my house plants in the same room to try and help with the lack of humidity. Also bowls of water and wet towels hanging… Thanks again! I’m going to attempt posting pics now with my 2G phone
