I wouldn’t trust that meter. I use an Apera Gro-Pro series GS-4
This meter may be ok for checking moisture but not accurate to use as a PH pen
I agree with ya,
I haven’t gotten high tech yet.
I bought the soil test capsules they worked. I’m not sure of what brand and model would be best for me. I could use your help with that.
Blue lab and apera make quality ph meters, those are the two youll see recommended most here.
Wow that’s costly. But I know you pay for what you get.
I grow in soil and outdoors This is only my second season growing.
These pens you talk about! Should I have one?
Yes a PH and TDS pen unless an all organic grow. The PH and TDS pen are used for mixing nutrients to the proper PPM level and the PH pen to check the solution for proper input. Soil range for PH if 6.3-6.8 with 6.5 being ideal and PPMs around 800-1000. Are these inground or in pots? Run off is used to check the 2 aboveboard in container plants
I use a soil recipe and my compost and fox farms, my water comes from a river or rain.
I also use fox farms pH down in the water to bring it to 6.0.
But I don’t have the correct tester for water…
Yes, my plants would’ve been dead a long time ago without it.
I think your smart by putting your own soil mixed in with FoxFarm because its a harsh medium. Your plants will grow better also.
@OldBuds
My opinion it’s trichome maturity. The clear/milky are very sticky, while the solid white ones are not as sticky, (but still sticky)…
@kaptain3d
Baseball and football season has me driving everywhere for kids games. Sorry I’m late!
Don’t be sorry my friend.
I appreciate your inputs any time they are offered ( and NO @Fieldofdreams , not that way…). It’s not as if you were being paid to help us all…
@MartyMarajuanaseed
What has been working for me on my last 2 grows is about 3 weeks out from harvest, I drop my temps down to 62ºF as my target, my humidity down to 40-45% and incorporate my UVA. I use the highest DLI I can get away with without causing foxtails and let her fatten up and get more frosty. My smells have come and gone over the course of flowering, but once I cut the first 2 colas and washed and dried them, they are now in a grove bag at 62% and the smell is getting stronger and more like what you would expect from good ol weed.
I’m just waiting on a few amber ones. I check around the calyx where the pistils emerge from towards the midway point too the bottom of the bud where it meets its stem. Nothing yet but almost. I seen what looked like a little start of amber in one trichome. By the end of this week I’m thinking.
@Bonjoyle @kaptain3d
That’s a nicely chunky lady, congratulations! Well grown
Thanks, it is impressive. I couldn’t have done it without you guys. Thank you!
Still alot of clear trichomes and I’m seeing alot of white pistils… its probably going to be 10 weeks. I’m wrapping up the 9th week tomorrow. They’re taking their good old time.
I’m wondering if i should feed them. I discontinued nutrients almost 2 weeks ago. Should i feed them with their next watering?
@kaptain3d
What exactly ripens them? Is it the darkness that they like to ripen in or sunlight?
I’ve gotten the temp down a little. I can keep it in the lower 80’s during lights on and low to mid 70’s at night.
