New grower looking for assistance

Hey guys I’m a new grower and new to forum. I have some plants that are 30 days old and still look like seedlings. I need some advice. It’s stressing me out on why they are not growing.

Welcome to the forum! I moved your post to it’s own journal, you can post all updates and questions here.

They definitely look on the small side for a month old. Something specific you are looking for help with, or looking for a crash course on growing?

If you recently transplanted the plants, they will appear to stop growing for a short time while the roots grow.

Well I’m just looking for any mistakes I may have made. And if I have the right lighting. I germinated them in paper towels and then put them in the pots you see in the pic. They stayed in a window for there first week while I was waiting on my tent to get here. Then moved them and started them on 18hrs of light. I gave first dose of nutrient a few days ago And now they are changing color. But overall growth has been real slow

I usually go 24 hours light for the first week or two. What soil are you using and what nutes? And welcome to the best place you can be! :sunglasses::v::call_me_hand:

I’m eager to here all the knowledge I can get. I gave them 1 ml micro, 1 Ml grow. And .5ml bloom. And I got some jiffy organic mix. Thats all my local store had other than Miracle-Gro and I know thats a big No No.

I’m not positive but I think that jiffy has nutes in it and if the The sucker leaf is still green then you don’t need anything. And you probably don’t want to add bloom nutes at this time. How are you watering? @dbrn32 is the lighting expert he should respond. what lights do you have?

The first thing you should do is put the other half of the cage on that fan.A grow tent is cramped place… If that thing falls forward it turns into a lawnmower. If we can get a picture a little bit closer of your plants that would help. That kind of looks like Coco, is it? If so it has no nutrients and you need to be feeding as soon as you put them in.

The ph is low. You want between 6.2 to 6.8 in most soil grows. If your watering every day you are probably overwatering. How much are you watering? And what are your ppms? :v::call_me_hand:

I’ve been watering until I think there is enough lol. Haven’t measured the dosage I give them but I guess I need to start doing that. And I don’t have a Ppm meter but I do have one on the way.

Awesome :sunglasses: on the ppm meter! On seedlings you want to water in a ring around them not directly on the stalk. This stimulates root growth. It makes them search for water. But don’t water every day.! You want the soil to dry a bit or you may get root rot. I go a couple days between watering. if I’m in a 16 oz solo cup I would use about a 1/3 to 1/2 cup of Water. I hope this helps. I’m set to watching so anything you post I will see and if I can’t help I know the people that can.:sunglasses::v::call_me_hand: Happy growing!

So just posting a update. I waited a few days to let the low ph water I was using dry out. I watered them today with 6.4 ph water. But the bottom leaves are turning yellow. Should I wait a couple days and see if changing the ph helps? @Dman1969
