Just started 4 ILGM Zkittlez.
This is my 2nd grow and I will be throwing out the bottled nutrients and attempting an organic grow. I am growing indoors in a 4x4 tent with a spider farmer sf4000 450watt led light. 3 gallon fabric pots using 1 gallon of fox farms ocean forest on the bottom with 1/3 cup of geoflora veg and then 2 gallons of fox farms happy frog on top. 30 % extra perlite has been mixed in with soil mix and all 4 pots have been watered with thrive alive B-1 at 1/2 tbsp per gallon and I added 12oz of recharge once during the first week. I let the pots sit for 2 weeks before and then germinated all 4 seeds Thursday night and they have all sprouted this morning. Looking for some assistance from other growers that have some experience growing organically. Giving the Geoflora a try since I used it on my veggies and they worked really well on my Pea plants, yeah I know Cannabis is different but that Pea plant was in rough shape.
Hey @Costanza , welcome to the forum.
Sundays can be a little quiet at times. Lots of folks will be on tomorrow.
I will tag a few who might know the organic growers.
@Myfriendis410 , @Covertgrower , @dbrn32
@MidwestGuy , @BobbyDigital , @CalamityJane
Ok I figured it would be a slow day. Thanks for the reply.
You can gently remove the seed husk with a toothpick or tweezers. Wet it first if dry.
Don’t pull too hard or you will uproot the plant.
Also you wont be happy with multiple plants in the same pot.
If a plant becomes diseased or infested with pests you cant remove it safely.
If a plant needs more or less food than others you cant adjust.
One plant per pot…trust me.
You should transplant those before the roots intertwine.
I’m not sure. I think myfriendis is a promix or coco grower, but I bet he knows who the good organic growers are.
I figured someone I tagged would know who to tag for organic.
I think @Mrcrabs is one.
This is good media but it’s not organic. So; not too sure how hung up you are on organic per se or wanting to try soil?
FYI this is only about half of the light you’ll need to flower off a 4 X 4.
Well said.
Ditto.
I’m also on my 2nd grow, and am also growing zkittlez auto. I can’t help you on the organic side, but I can warn you about their size. The description of this plant is “compact”, but that has not been my experience. I’ve got one at 37", and another at 30". The stretch was unreal…like 2" per day. Maybe it was something I did that caused this, but I’m too new to know that for sure. I’m also growing 2 Gelato autos in the same tent and they settled around 18", which is what I would consider compact. I know this wasn’t you’re question, but just thought I would throw this out there in the hopes that it helps. I would also agree that you’re not going to be happy with them in the same pot…even if you intend to transplant. I did that on my first run and it was super hard to transplant, and they were not happy about it either. Good luck with it all!!
I would look into scheduling a good top dress plan or plan on mixing some compost teas. Your soil will likely need some help down the stretch.
Ive had all my zkittles autos so far grew to be over 5 feet tall. Yes they did stretch a bit but nothing horrible. They just stretched and stretched and stretched lol. I have 2 going now in canna coco so lets see if coco makes a difference with these babies. Bout to transplant now to 7 gal.fab pots.
that’s actually white yarrow in the pot. Like I said I never grew organically before and there are a ton of things online to weed through and I guess that’s my cover crop lol.
I’m using Geoflora dry granules for my feeding and will be giving top feeding every 2 weeks at 1/3 cup per pot
thanks for the info, that’s good to know I figured compact would be small like the white widow autos I just grew. Glad I got the taller tent
Ah shit. Ya know I researched this grow for a good month before starting it and the ocean forest soil was the only thing that I kept running into issues with conflicting info. It lists it as organic soil when you go on amazon, and I looked for hours on forums and some say it is and some say it isn’t but I could never find a definitive answer and fox farm never replied to my emails. I just put a small amount of it on the bottom of my 3 gallon pots. As much as its going to annoy the hell out of me, do you think its going to be a huge deal breaker and kill the microbes and ruin the whole organic part of the grow or do you think I’ll be ok and it will still be beneficial and I’ll get a better tasting and smelling product?
This is a not a matter of fact anyway. You’ll be fine.
thanks for the tip, I managed to get the seed husk off with some tweezers. The other little plants in the pot aren’t cannabis they’re white yarrow. I read some organic gardening blog in my hours of going down the organic rabbit hole and not sure if I’m doing it correctly but that stuff is supposed to be the cover crop. it probably won’t do a thing, but it sure was fun trying to tell if the sprout was really weed or just another yarrow sprout
