Never grew before but I kind of have to

New here and never thought I’d be in this position, having to grow. It’snot like I’m dreading it becauseI have a stigma about this truly awesome plant. It’s just that I’ve never broken any laws, well not intentionally, in my life. I’ve always been the good one among my siblings and that has stayed with me throughout my adult life but husband injured himself really bad jumping into a local river this past Summer. Broke an ankle in two! Complications after his surgery, he now suffers from CRPS. The pain is debilitating some days and sad to say, no pun intended he has fallen into a pitiful depression.
I want nothing more than to help him, so here I am. I ordered most of the necessary supplies from Amayzon. Even initially made a covert payment for seeds here via money order.
And then he found out. I thought he was going to be ecstatic. That I loved him enough to go to all this trouble. But all he could see was the risk. Oh the risk!!!
I was surprised he was worried more about the risk than I was.
Regrettably I ended up canceling my first order here, and they were so cool about it and reimbursed me promptly. But his pain is only worsening and even with a diagnosis of CRPS he hasn’t started any major pain relievers. He’s on a few medications for depression and inflammation but the pain is getting worse everyday. He doesn’t want to get on opioids so he is drinking more than ever which is not only worse for him but for us, his family.
So, I casually told him I wasn’t sending my grow supplies back, and he said ok. And I ordered more seeds and I hope he doesn’t ask me cause I don’t want to lie but at this point I will.
He was a grumpy grouchy ass before this and you know how pain makes us irritable? Well, he’s not only irritable but irritating because he is more negative than his usual self. The drinking isn’t helping.
I’m not hoping for the wife of the year award I just want him to finally get some pain relief, be able to sleep through the night and be happy.
So, that’s why I’m here to learn all that I can to help my man.

Thanks so much for your support. And the support of everyone here. I’ve been reading up on how take and read ph measurements. Got a TDS meter in the mail. There’s so much to learn!

A decent Ph meter and a TDS meter are 2 of the most important items to have beside lights. @dbrn32 is our light guru on here. Are you going to be growing in soil? Autos or Photo?

Growing in coco coir. I’ve been reading up on it and I figured if it’s good enough for my tarantulas it ought to be good enough for my plants. I bought a Bluelab ph pen.

Oh and I’m growing photo period plants. I also got Grandaddy Purple and Cherry Pie and Wedding Cake. No autoflowering at this time. But what strains do you find are great for chronic pain?

OK good choice on the ph pen and plants. Here are 2 growers who have helped me out both grow in coco @Not2SureYet @Nicky. Ok i grow in soil have been thinking of switching to coco. I grow autos I like Northern lights,Blue Berry and Bubble Gum. I also dry vape Hemp mixed with Bubble Gum. Tag @MrPeat he grows monster photo’s and can give you some advice on wich plants are great for pain.

Thnx for the tag @Deepsix

I don’t have pain so I don’t know but I agree northern lights is a great choice, sting high yielding plant with good genetics and easy to grow.

Definitely switch to coco @Deepsix

I just closed the Firework Stand. I am exhausted and will come back today for a proper response. Long long day.

I also have tw M H 1000’s there ok but don’t expect tight buds with them. The quality of the pot will be good but the buds will be light and airy (LARF or LARFY is what you will see it called here). I’m still new to this but if I can point you to anything hollar and I’ll try.

Welcome to the community ! I think you will enjoy your new hobby, and also achieve what you need for pain relief. If you need to tag anyone use the @ symbol in front of their name. Good luck

You will likely need more light depending upon how much of the 4 X 4 tent you intend to fill with your plants. You are in the right place to get all of the help you might need getting everything figured out and how to grow your plants to a successful harvest.

@merlin44 is right 2 ts1000 won’t be enough, you would need 4 of them to properly light your tent. If you want to go with Mars 2 of their sp3000 would be very nice in a 4x4 or their tsl2000 would get you enough i believe about 100-150$ cheaper… even better if you are handy with some simple tools the same money as the tsl will get you the 260 v2 from hlg it’s a kit but has much better efficiency and canopy penitration. I hate pushing hlg I’m not a fan (personal) of them but I’m not going to lie their products are top shelf

@Deepsix Thanks for the tag.

@JB00 Everyone that reads my post know I am in pain you can’t even imagine. The medical list of problems is pretty overwhelming.

I was a Law abiding citizen. I only had 1 ticket for speeding which was after I buried two Grandmas in-less than two months. Also in a speed trap.

I debated on growing for a few years. As the VA Hospital gives me ZERO pain medications. Hell…they are not even treating the symptoms let alone the cause of my pain. They love us Veterans suffering.

Peach Puree CBD by G13 Labs is fantastic for pain relief. Even for Terminal Csncer metastasis throughout the entire body. The head high isn’t long. When it transitions to the body high, you can feel every spot that has a problem there. Just 1 puff and it kicks in. This one is a 1:2 ratio. Meaning its 5% THC and 10% CBD. Awesome strain. :+1::+1::+1:

Now if you want to rock out and still have Pain Management, a 1:1 ratio where you get the best of both worlds. Example is Garden of Green Super Critical Bud CBD.

No say you get a 1:30 ratio in favor of CBD. You may get a slight head buzz but usually at these ratios the THC is canceled out ny the CBD. Mu theory on these ratios if my experience growing and smoking said strains.

I do not normally recommend as we all have different reactions marijuana. But when I do, you can take it to the bank and cash it. I don’t recommend lightly. :+1::+1::+1:

Some thing to think about. You are going to need to get to the plants each day for run off as you all ready know. I would not do more than 3 plants in there at once. I only do 2 in my 4x4 because of that. I love the Big bud coco and use it in every grow with what ever nutes I am using. It really does show a difference for me. rightbud has a sale on a lot of their lights. You will definitely need one more light to do 3 plants in there. They have a Viparspectra 1000 1oow there for 90.00 and a 1500 150w for 119.00 I have bought a lot of lights from them. They have a great costemer service and I always get my lights in side a week
I am going to have to look up that strain for a friend of mine @MrPeat
