Try 2 harvest it today when it’s getting dark out
I was gonna say this too or even in the early AM depending on if they want more wet or dry buds to dry and cure depending on it’s last drink
I also went by the lunar calendar and yanked mine just before sunrise at low tide and also waning moon
I read that’s when the plant has the least moisture up in the buds …and i had watered about two days before
Probably won’t have time to harvest until Saturday so I stuck it in the garage with a dehumidifier. Also watered it this morning which was probably a dumb idea.
No it isn’t a dumb idea …my second plant got watered and then I yanked it 40 hours later due to a weather situation I’d rather not put it through…it was just a little less mature than what I wanted but it’s curing up to me some super fine smoke and I have no regrets .
Don’t sweat the small details …one thing I learned as that we all may aim for perfect but almost none of us get it perfect …
You’ll be just fine …you’ll see in hindsight you gained knowledge that will arm you in the future with the ammunition you need to solve it
I don’t think watering is going to harm or help the WPM …
As I also think of the dehumidifier…
Unless you are working with the temperature too …to control that .
I had hoped for a better result on this grow but never really had high expectations given how late I started. The goal was definitely to learn, test and maybe get some nice buds. While premature, what’s left does look and smell great so probably not a total loss. Tried new things like using using new nutrients, watering more often, PHed water and could really see a difference from my last grow. And now I know the deadline to harvest in my area.
I’m already thing about next season and debating which strains to grow and if I’ll do autos, photos or both. Got a credit with ILGM since the blue dream auto seeds tried earlier in the season were duds. Tough decisions!
The garage isn’t climate controlled, but since it’s attached to the house it’s usually between 60-70 degrees around this time of year. With the dehumidifier it’s at 60-65% RH. Just hoping to slow the rot until Saturday. Supposed to be sunny tomorrow so I can put it out in the morning.
I saw you harvested and things looked great. Have you tried it out yet?
I would try to remove any so it doesn’t spread
I’m pretty steady smoking on it lol …hard not to as it’s better than all the dispo buds I have which is a lot lol …
Made edible chocolates too using the QWET method shown in detail on a blog made by another user here
Going to drop it here incase you wanna have a look you can also use all your non infected trim larf and sugar leaves
That’s what I did the recipie I used for the chocolates is also the next blog entry down from this
I agree with @Lacewing about the bud rot. Pull that bud apart and you’ll see it. Do not smoke or use it for edibles. You can try to cut it out but make sure to cut out good material all around it
I’ve been cutting out the rot as I see it. Lost my 3 best kolas earlier this week unfortunately. I think the garage/dehumidifier last night helped as I’m not seeing any new rot this morning. The nights are just so damp here. Also, seeing a bunch more pistils turned red over night so maybe by tomorrow night when I harvest it’ll be slightly more ready.
@Lacewing @Caligurl love the concentrates blog! Good stuff. I thought everclear was illegal. I’ll have to make a visit to the liquor store.
It is illegal in many states. I live in the highest regulated (F&c&'in) state in the NATION…
I have to drive to the next state to buy it.
Man I gave my sis one of the chocolates from caligurls blog …yesterday
She was back this morning and took 3 more hahaha they really are killer
I never extracted anything before or even harvested weed before …Her blog makes it so easy
Huge treasure on this forum !!
Like your avatar change very nice
I tried the other day for an adult lacewing but every thing I try to upload they don’t allow or wrong format hahah ughh
Here’s the sample I cut on Monday. Seems to have dried nicely. Smells pretty good considering it hasn’t cured. Just waiting for the workday to end so I can give it a try.
Ah man that’s a nice nug …your gonna enjoy that but I would try and really taste the terps it may have a hay taste but I could taste the terpines right through it …
Awesome looking bud
Which strain is that! Looks like super lemon haze …but I don’t remember you saying ypu grew that
It’s ILGM northern lights photo. Just tried a sample I can definitely taste some nice terps and it got the job done. It’ll be real nice once cured. Makes me feel much better about harvesting early.
Yeah I thought you’d say something along these lines …
After I saw that bud I was like …JACKPOT …
Wish i could have a taste …
Pass it over mayne …lol
I’m awful I want to try a hit of everyone’s herb !!!
I’m the same way. There needs to be an ILGM bud exchange so we can all sample each others herb.
Only smoked a half a bowl and was feeling good while watching TV. Was going to harvest the rest this morning but fell asleep at 11 and didn’t roll out of bed until 8. I’ll have to harvest it tonight. Cut out more rot this morning so she’s definitely coming down.
Did you wet or dry trim? I’m leaning towards wet, but also read that if you dry trim it allows the buds to mature a little more. And did you wash and then trim or trim and then wash the buds?
Now back the the second half of that bowl
So …I cut the plant at the main stalk just below the soil level .Hung it upside down for about an hour while I got my wash station set up …then I cut the branches off the main stalk
I removed only larger fan leaves and anything with stem material showing. Then did a bud wash
This leaves all the sugar leaves on during dry …which I believe causes it dry slower and that’s what you want …final dry trim was done once they dried and just before curing
This may give you an idea of the material I left on to dry trim
y
I did a little of both. I trimmed off larger material wet to help with drying then went back and cleaned them up once dry before going into jars.
@BowHunt3r @Lacewing do you use lemon juice/baking soda or H2O2 and water or both? I see some lemon juice in that photo @Lacewing. And damn that’s a beautiful sight with all those flowers hanging!
So I had no lold or bud rot to contend with and used ZERO h202
Just lemon juice and baking soda
You can follow this posted by @MeEasy and I copied it …
Since you have rot I would use the H202 added in with the others
