Hey guys. I am currently growing 10 plants all of them are 10th planet from ETHOS genetics. I am going to be taking clones and flowering them all out to choose the best of the 10 and keep 2 or 3 as mothers. One of the 10 plants is growing 4 leaves out of the stem instead of 2. I will attach pics. Can anyone explain this to me?

Welcome to ILGM forum. Your pics didn’t upload. You need to wait until you see check mark next reply before you start another or you hit reply
For some reason it says I’m not permitted to see the request once pics have uploaded. Will try again now
Your original post shows that they were uploading. Usually when it shows on post that it was uploading like that, the problem is where you have started another upload before the last one finished. That’s probably why it won’t permit you to see, because they didn’t finish
I’m not experienced enough to be able to give much insight. I’ll tag a couple of people who may be able to explain it. Off the top of my head and is the obvious thing to say is it may just be a odd mutation. Since I’ve been on forum I’ve seen a couple of weird growing plants. @Covertgrower @Skydiver @Hellraiser.
Yeah it is definitely strange though. I have seen mutations but they usually have 3 leaves or they have self topped but in this case it’s all coming from the main stem and has not split making 2 colas. So the way I see it is it should be super branchy considering the growth that comes from the leaves and stems but not sure. I have emailed ETHOS and they asked for pics and then did not reply
Thanks!
The three people I tagged will usually help out when they see notification. Good luck
Isn’t Mother Nature cool…my only answer…nice looking plants!
Interesting mutation. They’ll grow out fine eventually. They look great overall though. Nice work!
Mutation. I have a jh/strawberry cough we bred outdoor that has 3 branches at every node so it’s 150% production.
A rare mutation, I’ve only had two of those over the few decades I’ve been growing, get 3 leaf set plants at least once or twice a year. Nice looking plant.
Sounds like a winning pheno,
If it were my grow, I would keep a mother and wait for the magic…
I’m new here but not new to growing. I think I can answer your question. The condition this beautiful plant is displaying is a classic example whorled phyllotaxy. Just google that. Every time I personally had a plant display this…it was a male. It’s more common of a mutation in males from what I’ve read too.
It looks like it may be a polyploid. Can you post a picture of the stem structure?
Don’t chuck it! Polyploids are heavy producers.
I would hope not. That thing will have more sacks than JJ Watt
Here are a few pics of a polyploid I keep. You can see that the extra growth is significant. She’s currently in flower and is producing very large flowers.
Yeah but branches will break and it will sit on IR
