I have a plant almost in final flower, and the smaller I guess you’d call popcorn buds on my bottom stems where buds are growing are drying up to where their crispy to the touch. but the rest is staying moist like it should above them???
Humidity is around 40%, temps stay around 82 degrees lights on. I’m using nectar, so it’s not an NPK issue. Everything is doing great on the rest of plant, it’s only the bottom buds. It’s close to final, I’ve done I guess you’d call lollipopping to an extent by removing foliage.
Sounds like she might be catching your drift, “oh, don’t want those…okay, got it, I’ll work on the top ones…” Just a thought.
Got a pic of the plant?
my thoughts on it, was that the tops and everything are pulling so much moisture and everything to keep them growing and getting fatter, that those little popcorn suckers down on the very bottom of the plant are getting cheated, and so they’re not getting the moisture they need to stay just that moist…the foliage is crisping up, which isn’t surprising, but I’ve never had the little buds do that. The rest of the plant is killer right now.
Yeah it’s odd to me as well. Normally for me the buds that are underneath are softer and fluffier, usually because they aren’t getting bombarded with photons like the ones up top.
Did it start after pruning? Maybe the stuff that wasn’t getting light before pruning got scorched once it was exposed to the more intense light.
I just clip off the ones doing it…the buds are extremely dense, even those dried up ones…so at least they aren’t super airy, and it just helps the tops focus on energy. I just LOVE the nectar stuff, I have the entire line, and have killer results! Always super frosty buds!!
I figured out what happened to my lower growth, I had added these two little cheapo LED panels, that I put at the bottom down by the lower parts of the plants to help lower growth below canopy, and I just got them too close to the plant.
