In my dwc unit the water temp has risen to 74.5F. Could I put a small ice pack inside the bucket without hurting the roots? I am trying everything aside from adding a window a/c unit right now to cool the room the tents are in. The room temp is 73F the tents are on the concrete basement floor which is about 68F
4- white widow autoflowers
RDWC system 4 five gallon grow bkts
5 gallon reservoir
2 single dwc buckets white widow AF
1/10 hp water chiller( currently not in use in the rdwc that temp is staying around 65-68F without chiller now)
Your reading into 2 different systems. I’m having a problem in the single 5 gallon bucket dwc which is 74.5F. My RDWC system which is in the same tent is holding between 65-68F which is what the chiller was hooked up to.
I’m working on building a few single bucket and reservoir setups because my current rdwc is maintaining temp good. Was just trying to get by for a week until I get them built. Just wanted to make sure putting something that cold into the roots/water would hurt
Nah; you already know to be careful of the roots. You have some additional leeway if you are using a product like Hydroguard too.
I built my setup and the reservoir came from our local automated car wash: 15 gallon drum of “foaming soap” that rinsed out easily and I modified for my use. It’s nice to have a reservoir to match the volume at the roots.
