New here, and new to growing anything really. I had a few duds but now I have a auto that is showing good progress. My problem is that the main stem is growing through the roof so to speak. I now have my LED all the way up and the top of the tent but the AF seems to keep reaching. I was late in bending/training, and I won’t make that mistake the next time but for now what do I do with the top of this plant? Bend it over? Or clip it off? Thanks

Might try super cropping, here’s a link showing the process from Nebula Haze. It will help you control her growth and the added benefits of stacking on power nuggs! Just find good spots that aren’t too woody yet and soflty start to “bruise” the area you want to fold over, pinching and rolling works well for me. Tagging @kaptain3d for a second opinion, he shows little mercy

Thank you for the advice! I have gently rolled it over, and while a little “juice” came out of the stem I don’t think I damaged it too much.
The little seedling on the right is a AF Wedding Cake which I am particularly excited about as it is one of my favorite strains. I live in a little town in Alaska and the local dispensary doesn’t have this…

Don’t be scared to “break” them. They are very resilient. You can keep some aloes or honey to coat any open wounds, and some kind of “tape” to fix any break. I like to use teflon tape because it stretches when the branch grows… but, in a bind, any tape will do…

So watching your video it looks like I may need to do a bit more on the bend or break on mine. I was being extra careful not to damage my baby! I had been reading where auto flowers can’t take as much abuse as they don’t have time to heal with their speeded up time schedule. As for taping up the split, I have a lot of electrical tape, which if put on not too tight will have some flex.

Sure you have to be a bit gentler on Autos, but you can still train them.

So by last night this plant reestablished her vertical course again! But as a whole I would say this plant looks healthy and now that I have the branches spaced out the buds flowers look to be many. This is actually fun when it works!!
So can I keep bending this around in a corkscrew fashion?

That sounds good. Thanks for the advice… Since pulling the lower branches out to expose more of the flowers to light they are getting larger every day. Looking forward to seeing how big they will get!

When I super crop. I have a yoyo ready to keep the branch from falling to much. And another to hold her down as mentioned here. A few hours after you do it. She will try to straighten back up if not held down. Just my o2. if you are going to super crop it. Do a full 90 turn on her. Other wise you are basically bending and training her. It can be worry some the first time. but these can take a lot of abuse

Does this plant look OK? The leaves down near the base have been yellowing and drying out for a while, but now that seems to be moving up the plant a ways. The big leaves mainly. The smaller leaves up near the buds seems to be healthy but quite small.
I am leaving town today for 2 nights and am worried I might lose this plant!

Running into a similar issue. Main stalk heading to the sky. I fimmed during veg stage, this thing took off like a hurricane. I thought of bending down but I like to be careful with the autoflower, it’s on a mission but I do defoliate to get that light into her center, air as well, send that energy to the top. That’s where the yield is! The quality of seeds ILGM offers is so amazing! Every aspect from germination to inhalation these guys have some amazing seeds. This is my northern lights. Next photos are my blueberry, all grown the same. I always lollipop too. I’m a firm believer in controlling and increasing the paths the energy takes to grow an amazing smoke!

So I harvested my White Widow and dried it and in the jars now curing. For my first grow I am quite pleased with it thus far. Nice feel good about life high (I think I can use some of that now), that made me tackle some projects I have been putting off including cleaning my workshop, Not terribly potent but pleasant enough to smoke with no cough or harshness. The plant was so scraggly towards the end but the tricoumbes did turn from clear to milky with a few tan colored ones. I was happy to see that because for a while i thought the plant was going to die before being done. The Wedding Cake that grew next to it looked so much better when I harvested it a week later.

I try to wait until the plant is like that before I harvest. To me, if it is green and healthy, it is still growing.
