Today I come with a question, and/or a debate for the community.
‘FOHSE’ claim to have the most powerful & efficient grow light in the world, is this proven to be true?
Are there any other fixtures that are in the same price range as the ‘FOHSE’ fixtures that come close to comparing?
Never heard of them before now. Went to their web page & it’s kinda vague they want to e-mail you spec’s & I get enough crap mail that I don’t want to have them sending things after the spec’s. They do have the prices though, like the A3i is about $2500! Ouch! Maybe @dbrn32 knows of them?
1792 umol/s isn’t the most powerful grow light available. Not that they provided any information to support their light output claim either. The scorpion diablo is larger, more efficient, and cheaper.

So it’s debatable that the HLG fixtures are the best on the market?
A stand out thing for me with the Fohse fixtures I’d that they have setting for spring, summer & autumn, and also sunrise / sundown, would anyone suggest this makes a difference?
Also the swinging bars, for even light distribution sounds pretty cool…
For the price the Fohse fixtures go for, would you suggest anything else? @dbrn32
I’d take a look at the new Mars and spider farmer bar style lights they have much better coverage than the board lights do and a better price. Their efficiency is a tiny bit lower with the 301b instead of the 301h diodes but in the independent reviews on YouTube they look better imo because their wall to wall ppfd numbers.
I love my diablo .never had the fohse but I believe I am stuck on hlg. Best customer service quick time on getting the products. Superior materials used to build the lights all lights in my tents and rooms are hlg branded hell I have 4 lights that would kill the fohse light and still cheaper than the fohse was or close to the price and that’ll give u close to 1500 true watts. Well all lights recently went up so a bit more now. Ut still 3 xxx the power for about same price. These guys will steer u right pal. I should have came here before I got lights but I didn’t. Now I have 10 lights I don’t use in a closet collecting dust. Lol. Don’t be me
Yes that is a vipar on the left. Using it to add the red to this side of room since I have a far red bulb over other side til the other red and outlet comes in mail. Other than it’s a 260xl and a scorp diablo 3x uva bars 1x far red bulb 600w vipar set on bloom only for the red bout to get in and defol the mods some keep the rh down in the room at lights out. It’s been hanging between 48 and 54 and I’ve seen so far 3 spots of wpm. I’ve cut the leaves got rid of and sprayed them down and don’t see anything more yet even running the dehuey on 30% I still get 48 to 54 % in the room every morning. Kinda sickening. Playing with the controls have to have the exhaust on 8 or 9 and intake turned down quite a. It to get the rh to drop hopefully figure this out soon.
I have zero complaints. I ran mine 24/7 for two months straight and it never even got warm. I’ve been growing clones and strawberries under my canopy and not one has been leggy.

Just wondering if this one is recommended for use with CO2 where it has a higher recommended grow room temp.
Usually seen most recommend 77-80 deg as the upper end temps.

I got to ask, after having to go back and add additional red light, meaning more lights, is this more energy efficient than a standard 600 Watt HPS. I’m looking at the cost, and now with led I see most have decided it lacks enough red and uv so they are buying more and more extra red and uv lighting. @dbrn32@Nicky@Myfriendis410@Covertgrower
My question
If we have to add more red and uv lighting to led setups then how does it beat HPS which has alot of red, runs on one bulb, and provides enough uv light to blister a spider mites behind?
My new opinion is, it doesn’t if we have to add more and more extra light etc. It doesn’t beat HPS on cost for starters. Sorry for jacking your thread @Connoisseur but I’ve come to the conclusion, and I see now it looks like many others have as well “by buying all these extra lights”, that led doesn’t beat HPS in anything unless you spend way too much money to justify the extra yield.
With that level of PPFD I would certainly imagine. OP wanted most powerful & efficient. What is a few more $$$ for air tight environmental control. I would be happy to cruise below that requirement. It is a heck of a lot of light.
