Your girls look great under the screens, Merlin! It’ll be fun to watch them fill out those nets when they begin to stretch!

Thanks for dropping by @WonkaMan, it has been three days since putting the frames on, I will have a “tucking session” tomorrow or the next day to get all of the new growth under the net. I will flip them to flower a few days after that.

While inspecting my plants yesterday, I saw two neighboring leaves that had a bit of damage that may be due to a critter getting into the grow room. I could also be mechanical damage from tucking, but I take no chances. It has been at least six grows since I have had any noticeable nutrient or pest issues but I am prepared.

I gave both plants a good dowsing of Capt. Jack’s Dead Bug just before lights out. A couple more treatments should take care of it. Stupid bugs! :grinning:

Tomorrow will be a big day! Not only will it be time for an update (six days after SCROG frames) but I will also be flipping to flower after my morning photographs. 70 days of veg is a week longer than my usual practice but both of these plants are a bit short and bushy and needed some extra time in veg. Not my preference but I made a couple of mistakes early on. I don’t expect any further issues with this grow.

In preparation for flipping to flower, I took advantage of the dark period this morning to sit in the dark in order to check for light leaks. I was not too surprised that there are no leaks.

I also gave them another shot of Capt. Jack’s Dead Bug since I was in there during lights out.

It is that time again everyone! This weekly update marks the flip to flower. I won’t actually trigger the flip until after 8 am when the lights come back on. This is to avoid having eighteen hours of daylight before going to the 13.5/10.5 flower schedule. My veg schedule is 6/2.

First let’s take a look at the comparison from today to six days ago when the frames were put in place.

This is what the pair look like this morning:

And this was last Wednesday:

Now for the individual plant shots comparing this morning to last week:

Blue Haze today:

Blue Haze six days ago:

White Widow today:

White Widow six days ago:

The interesting difference between the two plants illustrates two different uses of the screen. In the case of the Blue Haze, the screen is being used to train the plant in order to create an even canopy during flower. I will continue to tuck the Blue Haze tops under the screen for the next week to 10 days of pre-flower stretch. The White Widow on the other hand is just getting to the screen. Depending upon how much this plant stretches, the screen may end up being used to support the colas as they develop rather than training to a SCROG. At this point I suspect that the White Widow will wind up being partially a SCROG and partially a support system for the colas.

I have used my tag list for quite a long time so here it goes on flip day…

I am glad that you find them interesting…I certainly like putting them up. I look at the comparisons each day in order to keep tabs on the plant’s growth and health.

I certainly understand how life can take priority over online activities. I am admittedly hit and miss as well. I wish that I had more bandwidth to help new growers a bit more.
