I’m an old guy and I haven’t grown any weed in a long time. I’m trying my hand at some Bubba Kush. I know it’s a low grower but I want to get maximum growth out of it. If I use a 7 gallon grow bag can I achieve maximum growth from this size grow bag?

im using 5 gallon pots. if it is a photo period, i would not start it in 7 gallons. unless you have your own way of doing things. i think 7 gallons for the final pot would be ok. just to be sure ask another person. because it has been years since i have had a grow. believe me , made plenty of mistakes on this grow. one of them was starting it in to big of a pot. still having issues, getting nute deficiencies in tune. good luck

thanks. having some nute deficiency issues at the moment. my ph meter went out of wack.i recalibrated it so i think its more of lock out. and i have the spots from ph fluctuating. makes me so mad.lol. should of checked my meter more often. will not happen again. it is amazing the things you forget to do, not having grown in 5 or 6 years. it should work out ok. have a good one.

Hey wheelz70 I just want to thank you so much for your input. Seeing your message came as a very welcome surprise. Anyway, I just want to add that I purchased some of that

Nature’s Living Soil Super Soil and Fox Farm Nutrients (FoxFarm Big Bloom, Grow Big, Tiger Bloom. I know it’s a bit of over kill but I haven’t even decided how, if or when I’ll use any of this stuff. Like I said, I haven’t grown any pot since the 80s. The weed I grew came from seeds I took from a Kilo of Mexican brick weed. If you have anymore input feel free to send it my way. Also, I’m adding a jpeg of my seven plant grow. Since they are of the Bubba Kush variety and don’t grow very tall I’ve decided to call them The Seven Dwarfs with each having a dwarf’s name. I hope you enjoy my Seven Dwarfs. Thanks again… Sam

Got a bit of bad news… Dopey was either murdered or was pulled out of the soil by it’s stem. Either way, I am so sad that Dopey came to such a horrible demise. :frowning:

you mean, someone did it on purpose? thats a bummer no matter what happened. sorry to hear that. are the rest doing ok??mine are coming along but i had an issue with my ph meter. i think i said it on here before. the calibration got screwed up somehow. i should of checked it,but it never got off target before this quick. i use to check it like once a month and it would be fine., anyway my plants on the fan leaves ,the bud leaves got brown edges, some twisted, deficiency issues, and brown necrotic spots all over the leaves from ph fluctuation. i was able to save them.but i know it has hurt the potential of my harvest. it hurts. i was using high fertigation in coco so by the time all hell broke loose,it took some time bringing them back, also that caused more issues with the leaves. i will get some pictures,im sad because im a perfectionist and it drives me insane to see my ladies suffer damage. my lights are on 12 hours during the night,so by the time i take care of them.i forget to take pictures. plus its embarrassing that i let this happen this happen. but i will get some pics before harvest. my next run i only doing 2 in the 4x2. 3 is to many. im going with a blueberry and a strawberry cough.hope the rest goes well. have a good one

Yeah, I think it was one of the kids that come out to visit. You know, sometimes these young-uns see something new and do a; hmmm, what’s this? In the case of these pre-teens they didn’t learn the practice or the discipline of look but don’t touch and poor old Dopey unfortunately paid the price for the lack of this discipline. So, nowI have The Seven Dwarfs Minus One. Breaks my heart to see her go. As for the rest They seem to be struggling along. You see, my lady friend had some ficus trees in 30 gallon grow bags that were getting black spots on the front and back of their leaves. You see space here is at a premium so, she parked these bags about six or eight feet from where my Seven Dwarfs are. It’s not a proven fact that her soil was contaminated with Leaf Septoria (Yellow Leaf Spots) fungus but I have a feeling it was. How To Deal With Leaf Septoria (Yellow Leaf Spot) On Cannabis Plants - RQS Blog you might wanna compare these two pictures (This one is mine)

I had to pull off the leaves that seemed like they were infected. It killed me to have to do this but it seemed like I had no choice. Afterwards, I treated the plants with a fungus killing concoction I found here on this sight. A few days later I transplanted my Six Dwarfettes into 7 gallon grow bags with clean organic potting soil and a 5 pound bag of Super Soil. They seem happy and I have even noticed some growth. So, alls well that ends well… I guess, We’ll see. Talk about the shit hitting the fan… What a drag about your plants! Well, at least all is not lost and hopefully you won’t get hit to hard come harvest time. Also, if and when you have a look at the two pictures I sent and have an idea as to what’s on the leafs of my plants please feel free to comment. Thanks for your open ear. It’s great to have someone to talk to about these things.

im not sure, have you ever over watered it before?. it looks really dry now. it is so hard to say. if you have a ph meter.check the ph,first thing. it looks like it might be a calcium issue,ph fluctuation. it is hard to say. but first thing is to check the ph of your soil. ask around. i use coco coir, never really a soil person.nothing wtong with soil at all.i have a back injury and am growing inside.soil is much heavier when wet.if you spill things like i do.lol. soil leaves a stain where coco coir you just let dry and vacuum with no stain.i wish i could help more.but like i said i just starting again after 6 years,im rusty as hell myself. hope things work out for you. :v:

well at the end of week 7 of flower tomorrow. im not posting this because im satisfied with my results. to make it clear,it was me and not the seed or strain. i had many issues after not growing in 6 years, around there. most were my fault,or just being rust. but all in all it was not a total loss,it still smells awesome, just looks a bit rugged to say the least.lol. on the other hand never give up on them unless it is a total loss. i did not take anything of the plants to make them look any better. i happy that they made it. but a bit let down of my work. but i started something and here is the true finish. about another week by the trichomes one plant maybe more. been giving plain ph water at 6.3 to 6.4 growing in coco. mixed some molasses in there a few times. will show the final product when harvested. thanks

well, i harvested and hung my 3 master kush for drying. didnt do a full trim. i will say that my expectations are blown away. i cannot believe the yield i got of 3 plants in a 2x4 tent. rock hard nugs. very heavy citrus pineapple smell with hint of earthy skunk. very amazing considering all the issues i have dealt with. very hardy strain. im blown away when i seen what i got after harvesting and hanging to dry. here are the pics. will post more when put into jars for curing. i can only imagine if i had a problem free gr0w. very happy with results. took me 8 hours for a partial trim. wil say this.have plenty of air flow for this strain to keep any mold issues. did not have none, but easily could of. also put them in total darkness for 3 days before harvesting. love this strain, did it before years ago and did not disappoint .thanks for great genenectics again

Dude, you ain’t right with all those beautiful pictures… At this point I feel like I’ll be lucky if I get a single bud out of the whole bunch. today I checked the ph in my pots and they were off the chart! Upwards of 10 and perhaps beyond. It’s a good thing I ran into you. I’m thinking of trying a flush to get the ph down to at least something manageable but I would like to hear your slant on the matter at hand. Also, I have all these flying tiny bugs buzzing around my girls. I don’t have the slightest idea of what they can be. gnats, mosquitoes or little bastards that want to eat my plants? Got any ideas? Anything you can tell me is better than not knowing anything. Help, Help, Help… SOS Even. Please help me get these girls back on track. Question… Are you in California? I ask because if you are we have the weather in common and perhaps we can compare notes. I have come to the realization that I don’t have a clue as to what I’m doing. Ask me anything and I’ll do my best to give you the best answers possible. Sign… Mr. Desperate.

Congrats on a great harvest man!!!

your right, i am very grateful. ans they have a page on this here to help people with issues there having. for me unless i have to be hands on to work studying to work issues out. im not sure where the page is but i seen it somewhere on the forum, its there to help people… for the ph you have a meter,do you ph your water after nutes. i was reading if you dont add your nutes in the proper order in water, they will cancel each other out some thing like that. i use coco coir. get some pictures and post them on the help sight. sorry im not in california… keep at it ask people that are way better than me at explaining things. if i was good at fixing things without having hands on i would help you in a minute.i hope you find some help, keep practicing. you will get it down. wish you the best. next time i will think before i complain. good calling me out on it,your right… peace
