You cant point fingers at just 1 president. These issues have been going on long before Biden, Trump, or Obama were in office. Its been an ongoing underground war as long as i can remember. You cant blame the meth crisis on outside influences. I can remember when phosphorus labs were cranking out crap back in the mid 90s. I can remember the Reagans" Say No To Drugs" campaign and using Cannabis as the red headed step child while behind the scenes it was coke and heroin that was really the problem. Since the 1930s its been drilled into societys heads that Cannabis is the devil while all along its really been the synthetic manmade crap that has destroyed our society. Its all about the almighty dollar. If there was a plant that ANYBODY could grow, that mother nature has provided for us, that could deter medical conditions, better your overall mental status, and make life a hell of alot easier for everyone while promoting peace and love? And all of this for FREE ? Big pharma wouldnt like that, the politicians that are being paid under the table wouldnt profit, insurance companies wouldnt be huge, and hospitals wouldnt profit… oh the rabbit hole just gets deeper…

I am not a fan of biden but the fentanyl crisis has nothing to do with him. I do believe leaving Afghanistan happend because their poppy crop has become obsolete in america. 100-1000x the number of doses can be smuggled in the same size package with fentanyl over heroin. The market for heroin in America is basically gone, tollerance would not allow the average user to go back to actual heroin. Non rx Fentanyl was already showing up cut into heroin as well as being sold by itself as far back as 15 years ago that i know of. The market is also changing because before you needed huge amounts of land for poppy crops, farmers, labs and people to run them. Now someone can order a package from china and have it arrive a week later, cut it and put it on the streets as a 1 man operation.

We’re treading close to political posts with this thread. I’m going to leave the comments up for now but remind you all to be aware and sensitive to others on here.

China has indisputably flooded the US with fentanyl. This is objective fact. Anyone with a secret clearance can tell you that China is not our friend. Whether politicians are responsible is debatable and likely falls along party lines so would strongly suggest you ditch that argument here. This is, after all, a grow forum.

The original post was about decriminalization. I live in NC where it’s very criminal to grow. The cops came in my house because of a bad situation with my wife 3 years ago. They took my plants and told me not to ever make them come back to my house again. I could not believe what happened. My closest friend asked the sheriff why they didn’t bust me…his answer was with all the crime from meth and opiates…he and the county DA are too busy to harass small time growers like me. I did meth (we called it crank) in the 70s and I think it’s pure evil. I joined the Navy to get away from it and did. I was addicted to prescription opiates and that’s what got me here at this forum to grow something for pain that’s not addictive and has very few side effects. I’m a libertarian so I believe the government doesn’t belong in the drug business @Myfriendis410, but there are dangerous drugs out there that common sense should tell us to leave alone

Nancy Reagan was scary bad. It’s taken until recently to even start to undo some of her evil in this context. Lotsa lives lost (or permanently altered) to prison for weed because of this woman and her policies. We’re still dealing with the stigma.

I would love one of those old D.A.R.E. Shirts now. I would need a larger size these days.

All D.A.R.E. did was teach kids which drugs were the good ones and which were crappy @noddykitty1 . My own kids told me that.

Mississippi and Alabama have, but it’s being set up by outsiders to profit.

Is it legal to grow there too¿

Big time illegal. The head of the state senate said “over my dead body will marijuana be legalized” 5 years ago. He is still there @Dj351

@SandyC Yes, naming specific politicians or their wives is quite traumatic for me. It was a person with a completely different set of ideals that passed the Three Strike Law that put these people in prison for life. :pirate_flag::ok_hand:t2:

My bad @Fatz1973 - I didn’t mean to cause trauma. It’s true that habitual felon laws go back to the beginning of our country in the 1700’s. My point was more about the “Just Say No” drug war, which definitely heated everything up and then the follow-on in the name of ”criminal justice” to win elections was easy…. Apologies.

@SandyC I accept your apology. Everyone here over 21 knows who was behind the Just Say No campaign. If they don’t that’s what Google is for. Personally I wish they still taught civics to the youth. Again my trauma was very short lived. I bounced right back with a good bowl rip of OG Kush. I am against anything and everything FED! :pirate_flag::ok_hand:t2:

@SandyC Just noticed this part though looks like you were trying to discredit what I said. Marijuana prohibition began way before 1984. Your point is as moot as your arrempt to make mine seem.
