My LSD autoflowers were a complete failure. I planted 3 sprouted seeds in organic potting soil and waited the allotted 70 days until harvest. My plants received full sun, plant-specific fertilizer, and pH specific water. After all my trouble, I ended up with plans 6 inches tall and absolutely worthless. Did I do something wrong or did I get ripped off?
Welcome to the boards. You are in the right spot
Your seed germinated…that is the extent that the guarantee goes and also the extent of the breeders potential responsibility. #1) auto’s are gonna be smaller, flat out 1.5-3 ft is the norm for autos.
#2) 70 days is not a guarantee. Autos have taken on the avg 90 days or more for me.
#3) dont get discouraged
#4) Ilgm seeds are some of the best, no you didnt get ripped off.
#5) fill out a support ticket for any further explination.

Breeders cite flowering times rather than times to harvest. The ~70 day flowering time is just that - approximately 70 days to harvest from the time that the plant starts to flower.
Autos generally flower at some point between 4 and 7 weeks.
Pictures would be helpful. The most common cause of fail to grow is overwatering. Lighting is another primary cause, but if your plant is getting full sun, lighting shouldn’t be a problem.
Welcome to the community
First, welcome aboard! Next, you’re in the right place! The info @Docnraq dished out and asked for can help a whole bunch. It is discouraging when the plants don’t do what we hope and even more so when we find out it might have been something we did. The growers on this forum can really help line things up.
Most of the time, stunted growth occurs from overwatering in the beginning, be it too much or too often. The roots get lazy since they don’t have to seek the water/nutrients and don’t really develop. More root development = more nute uptake = more growth, in a nutshell.
The 70 day growth times are from commercial grows, under perfect conditions. We do our best, though. I’ve had a couple of autos finish in 70 days from sprout, but one started flowering at 17 or 18 days. Outside in high heat and no clouds for weeks.
Fill out that support ticket, and let us know how often you were watering. I’m no expert, but they are definitely all over this forum.
Thank you all for your support! I know I sound impatient but after more than 2 months, I have plants 4 inches tall in bloom. These plants seem stunted. I tried posting pics but my jpegs won’t load.
I will be patient. I have more seeds from the same batch to try in different soil.
I was encouraged to hear that Fiz had good luck with this variety indoors.
Thank you all again for your help!
Autos will stunt very easily for a number of reasons. Mostly from transplanting, but also from not being happy with the condition they’re grown in. I only used really good soil like Fox Farms Ocean Forest to grow them in. They are not as hardy as photos @2Cool4Words
Thanks for your reply. I planted 3 more seeds in miracle grow soil indoors and got great results. After 17 days they were already as big as the ones planted outdoors after 76 days in organic soil.
Not for nothing but Scotts is a Monsanto brand. We would all be doing the world a favor if we didnt buy their crap. If for no other reasons then frankenfood and roundup. They were willing to poison us all for a few bucks. I wont even buy their perlite if I can avoid it.
