Looking at trichomes

JUST FYI! In case anyone is as slow as me. I finally figured out how to get the microscope for my phone to take clear(er) pics, even though i have been told a zillion times.:woman_facepalming:t4: You have to hold it very very still and move it very very slowly when you are trying to get it to focus- i even use both hands sometimes.

I’m growing Wedding Cake Auto. My trichomes are still mostly clear. Hard to be patient. My first cola really has the appearance of frosting not just glittery-it is exciting. Here are a few pics…

Love the white tip! Are you using deep reds? Or was it just normal bleaching?

Pretty close. I like more amber in mine.

This is my first grow ever. Not sure what your asking me, sorry! Bleaching?

:heartpulse: i figured i might let some go almost half amber to smoke before i go to sleep. The rest I am hoping only another week or two before a can start harvesting. Patience is not my strong suit.

You can always do a staged harvest.

Yes, TY! I asked about that with my first post, because i wasn’t sure it was a thing i even could do. Now that i know, I think that is exactly what im going to do. :smirk:

I always do as staged harvest. I take half the flowers off, the the rest mature for another week or so, then harvest the last part.

The cotton top on the bud. A lot of topics say it’s light bleaching or that deep red LEDs can make them do it

I’m pretty sure that is how i will probably always do it too. This first grow is trial and error. So far i think what ive done has worked pretty good. Hoping i get even better as i go.

Thank you for that explanation. :slightly_smiling_face: I am using LED lights, so now i am assuming that is why! Lol I didn’t purposefully of knowingly do anything to them. I only used some LST (?) on them. I was too scared to try to top them.

I know what you mean being scared. But if you have photoperiods then they can recover. Autos a little tougher. Gotta time it right. Some LED s have “far red” diodes, that are further on the spectrum. The plants like more red in flower, and blue in veg. Your buds are awesome BTW

Ty, i appreciate the compliment. :heartpulse: These are autos. I have read people top autos and some don’t, i decided not to try. I really like the auto though. Not having to worry about making them flower is one less thing to worry about.

It is convenient, but the recovery time with photos makes them easier to work with. Some growers here put their autos through torture and have some pretty great results, though.

After the first few grows i might get more daring. I plan to keep them in the l dark for 48 hours before harvest. Then I’m planning on making edibles, tinture and then gummies. I’ve made edibles a handful of times and they turn out really awesome. One time i was at a friends and it started snowing. I was going to my car. I got stuck in a few inches of snow. I was ok until i stepped the second foot into the 2-3 feet of grassy (snowy) area between the sidewalk and the road. It literally felt like i was going to fall over if i moved. So another friend escorted me like an old lady so i could take the whole one step to the road

There’s a lot of great topics on here for making edibles and tinctures and oils. @MadamCalamity has a reeeeeally good journal and instructional thread.

Yes, i already took screenshots. Made
collages and im planning on printing them out once i get more ink. Already have a folder ready too. Just waiting on the bud. Thanks for the heads up. This really is a great community. :heartpulse: PS glad your plant is ok. When i heard they could turn herm at any time (if stressed too much or whatever) every bump that started worried me A LOT! lol
