Looking for the best methods of storing cannabis long-term to keep it nice and fresh for up to a year
I put 1lb into a turkey bag with about 4 humidity packs. Roll that bag up and toss it into a second turkey bag. All our packages goes into a plastic tote with a towel under the lid (above the product) This tote stays in a temperature regulated storage shed. We can fit about 10lbs into one tote without hindering and quality.
Everything must be dried and into cure mode before you take this approach.
What is the towel for? do you lay it on product or tape to lid?
Pick up some grove bags. They keep them fresh for a very long time. I was doing an experiment and was going to keep a plant in the bags for a year. Only made it 10 months because the wifey found it and smoked it up. But it was still super fresh.
I lay it on the product under the lid. All the product is double bagged so it never touches the goods.
It helps with smell big time. Also if there are ever any leaks or drips that may land on the tub or somehow get inside it stops at the towel.
Better safe then sorry.
I use Grove bags for cure but they seem to lose humidity if not sealed were yours sealed? trying to find Best methods
Nope, never sealed them other than the zip lock
If you’ve got money to burn get a humidor cabinet
They look nice too
got to find a better hiding spot, i had the same thing happen to me lmao
My wife don’t smoke but I have to use a safe to keep my adult children out of it
Hearing from y’all I’m glad my wife don’t smoke
@BudzMS
Is there anything wrong with vacuum sealing with one of those “food safe” brand vacuum sealers.
That’s what I’m trying out and a dedicated mini fridge set to 40s
Thats what I intended on doing unless there’s something I don’t quite understand that would make it not a good idea.
Wait could freeze the caannabis and put it in the freezeer or mini fridge ??
@lamme let me know if the food saver vacuum seal worked and did you cure the bud or just dry it and vacuum sealed it
Thank you
That what I was thinking of doing. I posted this topic for pro / con - Yea / Nay. The response was

what did you end up going with for long-term?
Right now I have 8 1/2 gallon mason jars and 3 1/4# grove bags plus and few more here & there. The jars are in cardboard boxes or a cupboard. I am going to heat seal the grove bags. I will not vacuum seal them. The vacuum will compact the bud like I would get in the 70’s. Then stick them in 3 or 5 gallon buckets with air sealing lids. Try to keep them as cool as possible. The portable AC will be busy this summer.
Reminds me. I need to order more 1/4 grove bag for the plant I am chopping this weekend.
Thanks much appreciated
