Lights too close?

Week 5 of G13 autoflower… im noticing a little yellow on the edges of the bud leaves. 1100 ppfd at the bud sight using a HLG 320 at 80% at 16 inches above canopy… could this be light related?

The general rule is that if you can feel the heat from the light on the back of your hand when it is held at the canopy level, then it is too close.

I’ve run plants up to 1,650 PPFD without any problems. My current plant is running at 1,050 PPFD.

Yellowing edges on the leaves is most often a problem of too much nitrogen. I expect this is your problem since your leaves are also a darker green and have a waxy appearance. Do you know your runoff PPM? What are you feeding for nutes? What soil are you using?

Im using Coast of Maine Stonington Blend. Ive only fed once since theyve started flowering. My PPM runoff is 1000. Ph is 6.5. My other two are doing wonderful. This one just started showing attitude. Im using Humbolts for nutes

Nothing wrong with 1,000 PPM. It’s where I run my plants. Surprising.

Yea, its got me stumped too. The other 2 are lighter green with no signs of stress… maybe just back off the feeding for a watering or 2 and see what happens.

Good idea. Autos can be more sensitive to nute levels than photos are. It’s about all that is left to think about given your growing conditions.

Im realizing the learning curve between photos and autos. Autos in front , photos in back… waiting for the autos to get done before flipping the photos…

Your photos are going to be pretty tall by the time those autos are done. I ran an auto on 12/12 for the last 6 weeks before I harvested it, and still got pretty good results. 7 dry ounces, so you may want to consider that.

@Dexterado

Thats great information to know. Ive thought about that. Was just worried the 12/12 wouldnt be sufficient for the autos… ive already cropped the photos once. Ive got a 12x8 space that im working with. I figured both the photos when done would be trees :joy::joy::joy:

Difference in plants…

Here are bud pics of my auto I ran the majority of the flowering time on 12/12.

Thats beautiful…

When you swapped to 12/12 , did you go dark for 48 or did you just go straight to 12/12

Straight to 12/12
