Lights hps v mh

What do people prefer with there lights mh/hps just hps mh/hps/mh ?? A lot of people saying not to even bother with metal halide then others saying it’s best to run metal halide last 2 weeks it increases trich :man_shrugging:t3: What’s everyone’s opinions??

Most people run one for veg and the other for flower, but I don’t remember which is which.

Yea most people Using them are running the mh for veg and hps For flower, but in the forums some people are saying to not even worry about the mh :man_shrugging:t3:

I guess it depends on the spectrum of the bulbs. If you can get an hps that’s 3000k or 3500k it would work for both, but I think most of them are closer to 2700k, which isn’t great for veg.

MH is much better for veg, will grow tighter nodes than HPS, but a premium HPS bulb like the eyehortilux superhps bulb has added blue and would be fine for whole grow as well.

There are those who like to switch to MH last 2 weeks for more trichs and terpenes supposedly, a 10K MH bulb would be best for that.

Yea think I’ll just stick with the mh for veg and will run the hps for flower, atm I’m running a 600w mh with ballast In a 4*4 tent and they seem to Be loving it , appreciated people ! Next question is when do people like to top for mainline?? 4th 5th 6th 7th Node ?? I’m thinking 4-5th node :thinking: again only reason I ask is there is a few different versions of the old “how to “ Lol

I’m here @Oldguy, I’ll gladly help…I need some more info @Zeiky84, do you want to do a ’ Nugbucket’ or a ’ Nebula’ or something more extreme like I do, where I incorporate some fluxing… I also need to know what experience level you have…?..:sunglasses::v:

Thanks guys appreciate the help, at the moment I’m thinking nebula, I’ve been growing outdoor for 10+ yrs But this is my first indoor, So have never had to worry about height before, outdoor we would only top twice and tie everything down As much as possible. For this set up but I’m running a 4 by 4 by 6foot tent With a 600w Mh balustrade light for veg and a 600w hPs for flower, grow medium is hydro corn ( fired clay pebbles) With hourly water from a drip system , seeds are girls scout cookie extreme from ilgm and at present am not running humidifier or co2 , ph Is around 6.1 and ec is 1.2, and lights are on 18hrs on 6hrs Off cycle :man_detective::thinking: @Oldguy
