Well after a little bit of a struggle it looks like once again I have too many plants on the go. I’m not going to make the same mistake this time as I did on my first grow. 6 plants was just too much to handle. I’ll cull the herd to 3 in a couple weeks.
I germinated 3 seeds on 9/8 a Gorilla Glue, a Train Wreck and Goldleaf all ILGM seeds. The GG spouted Roots up so I had to cut it out of the rapid rooter and flip it over. I was concerned it would not make it so I dropped another GG. The Goldleaf failed and will be dismissed this week. The TW just looked unhealthy.
Since all the spouts stalled and did not show much life I dropped 3 more of the same GG, TW and GL on 9/21. These seeds were planted in ProMix HP and ProMix seed starter. I filled 2/3 of a party cup with the seed starter then topped off with the HP. My theory was I did not want to hurt them with the nutes in the starter so I let them grow into it. Does it matter? I have no idea but it made me feel better. These ladies took right off and were above the soil in 48 hours and look happy and healthy, more so than the first family of plants.
So now I have 3 GG that look viable, 2 TW that look good even though one is so so and 1 GL. With any luck I still should get 3 viable plants at the end of the day.
You’re an underachiever lol. If you have plants that are lagging go ahead and drop them. Otherwise just use the extra plants to cut down on your veg time. Just have to get them into flower a little earlier is all.
Thanks everyone. Using a 65 watt 4K led to get them started and I’m trying to reduce the stretch but they keep reaching lowered the light again this morning. Currently running 18/6 at 80F and an RH of 80.
I did have 2 GSCX Auto and 1 BBA, down to 1 GSCX Auto from 8/25. Started an AmHaze Auto and a WWA 9/25 and now wife wants me to drop 2 more WWA since I am doing mainly outdoor photos next year.
Trying to take full advantage of mild winters, hoping for some beautiful colors.
Question. For everyone. How do you manage your extension cords and timers. Last year mine were on the floor and got out of control. So much so it caused a light off situation that was not planned. Thanks.
That’s a good question! I was thinking of trying to organize mine a little better this time. I love to hear everyone’s thoughts on what they do. I’ve seen where some mount a power strip inside the tent on one of the poles. I thought about doing that I don’t know
I ziptiied my extension cord to the pole high up but not to the top of the tent. I then ran the cords through the highest vent hole I use the strings that close the vent hole to hold up my cords to lights ect.
The little GG is about 3-weeks old she looks good but is not growing very fast, at this rate it might be October of next year before harvest. The GG that broke soil less than a 3-days ago has passed her already. For this stage of my grow I am using a 65 watt, 4000k from HLG. I currently have it at 100% and it is less than a foot off the girls in an effort to stop the stretch I was getting. So far they love the light.
I would just run them up and out. I have a plugin in each room so got me I just run my strip in the room. On the outside I would run them up ur tent and along the wall.
