For about the same price, you can have a double chips (2×5 watts epistar) that will give you more PAR and lumens for a better light penetration and photosynthesis and a little more foot print (veg 2.5×2.5, flowering 2.0×2.0), for those reason, this one is a 9.
Hoping that’s enlighten you and helping you a little M4ur…
I’m weighing in a little late, but I have two Viparspectra 600W in a 4x4x8 tent and I just ordered a 450W for my veg tent. All are the reflector series. I have to agree, their fans are loud, but I can feel them blowing air from the sides and it isn’t hot so they are keeping it cool. My ladies react to these lights like they are Halides or HPS. The leaves get that thick glossy look and they don’t stretch for light at all. I moved some seedlings from my veg tent to main tent recently because I’m doing autos in it and they are on 18 hrs of light and the seedlings took a turn for the better almost immediately. That is when I made the decision to buy the third light. I mean the price is good. The warrantee is 3 years. I’ve had many different LED lights in other hobbies and these are well put together from what I can tell. So far I am happy, but heaven forbid something goes wrong, I will let you know.
@BrockSamson, don’t have review yet for you but I bought the Viparspectra 900, still have seeds germinating so haven’t use it but there are more than a few folks here that have Vipar spectra a thumbs up, the really good LED w/ good warranties are very expensive, I went middle or lower some may say, since I have never done this before. I chose led because of the temperature reduction and wattage draw, less electric bill. The 900 watt unit I bought draws 418 watts but my tent is 4x4x 7, only gonna do 3 plants, if they will ever get some taproots!
Quick question for everybody (@yoshi@Iva and folks) out there I have on two different lights. A solid brand with low wattage vs. a generic brand with high wattage. Feel free to post your vote or answer for which 1 out of the 2 you would rather have…
(I don’t necessarily need an explanation behind your choices but if you would like to elaborate, feel free) Tnx!
Ok, I am new here. I got some seeds from Robert… 10 WW females and 10 Super skunk females. I grew a female warchild from seed starting on Christmas 16’. added 1 ww and 2 ss around January 10 2017. I sprouted and grew entirely with viparspectra 450 led. The warchild was veg’d under only the bloom (blue, white) bushy and squat crazy strong. The SS and WW are doing ok. one ss is weak, and I thiunk should be pulled?? take a look now. this is about 3/20/2017. 1.5 weeks into flower 12/12 running 2 viparspectra 450’s in a 31x60x80 hydroplanet tent. trying to resize pics. I think the light is very effective. wont have harvest results until June., then again in August, as I now have a veg tent and a flower tent. I have been having so much fun growing these ladies. I started a new job on Jan 30th that has taken up a lot of my time and I enjoy coming home and tending to the ladies as therapy lol.
Yoshi, you are THE man!!! That is exactly what I wanted to hear someone say. I have a 600w (adjustable) that I run the MH and HPS and I am adding 4, 36w spots, one over each plant and “rigged” to be level with my MH so I can adjust the height of all the lights at the same time. This will be my second grow and I am hoping to correct multiple mistakes I made on my first grow. Last time I could not turn up the lights cause I had inadequate ventilation, this year I hope to have enough air flow so i can run the lights on high w/o overheating the place.
I think this may be light burn but the sister next to it.in the same pot doesn’t seem to be effected nearly as bad.Can any one give me there thoughts.I is greatly appreciated.
Happy Harvesting and thanks
1st week into my grow (1st grow) I purchased the ViparSpectra 450 watt with both veg and bloom switches. My plants really took to it so I purchased a second one of the same model and I’ve had the first light almost two months and the second light about 3 weeks now in a 3’x3’x6’ tent. Plants are doing famously well.
Last week I noticed a slight pinkish hue coming from the last Light I bought. I got a little worried over it and emailed the company. In 12 hours I received a reply that asked me to try two different things with the lights. I did so and it made no difference. The next email I got they were very nice and gracious and sent a PDF of a prepaid postage label so I can send the light back and they will send me a new one. No bad attitude and no questions asked.
I was very surprised, pleasantly surprised, at how fast their response was and how kind and helpful they are. I’m considering just keeping the light and continue using it in the hopes that it’s just a little different Spectrum. But my point is if you want a company that is fast and willing to work with you then this company is the one to go with.
I already have 2 marshydro 300w I’m wondering if I should buy another or go with a high watt generic anjeet 800w instead- it’s a one or the other type of thing
