Leaves curl up and then go back to normal

Leaves are curling up no matter what I do put my 1000 HPS light 40 inches away have been watering with my spring water 7.5 PH. There in 3 gallon pots with potting soil mixed with peat moss. I have been using miracle grow 1x a week…There in my basement and I had humidifier going but shut it off to see if that would help.

Your ph is to high and the leaves cupping is from excessive heat.

I second @Painfree. Curling is a sign of high heat and your pH is way too high. Two separate issues.
Mix your nutes, then pH, then adjust the pH. I like the 6.3 neighborhood. It’s a nice neighborhood with good weed on every block.

You got a great diagnosis.

I would strongly suggest ditching the MG and getting on a correct nutrient program. You need a digital PH and TDS meter as well.

How about filling this out so we all have an idea of where you are and where you need to go?
