Can anyone help me identify this? It will start like this, then turn brown and crispy. Strain is Gorilla Glue Photo. Week 5 of flower. Fox Farm Happy Frog soil. Fox Farm Trio nutrients.
Any cal mag?
Could be CalMag def or tox, when I grew with fox farms trio, I added 5ml CalMag per gallon.
I highly recommend taking a few pictures of the whole plant and fill out a support ticket, it will help us, help you better.

Typically at week 5 of flower those white pistols would have started throwing brown hairs and started to form buds.
You may have underlying issues.
Have you used spring water with other grows with success,?
Do you know the pH of the spring water?
Hate to be detailed, just trying to help.
I do not have a PH meter. I’ve sunk as much money as I can into this grow so I’m kinda strapped for cash now. This is my first grow so no I don’t have any previous data to share on the water. I know they were super luscious, green and happy in the veg stage. I can take a closer photo of the buds if that will help. I flipped to 12/12 on June 11th and they started showing bud sites around the 20th of June.
It’s really needed to harvest indoor grows.
You can buy them for under 20 bucks on Amazon.
As you know, flowering stage is not the same as veg, they require different things.
If you have CalMag laying around I would add 5ml to a gallon your next watering or feed, at week 5, they really don’t require CalMag much longer. The girls should be focused on bud growth, not leaf.
However I think you either have inadequate lighting which means you will be in flower for longer than suggested, which means you should harvest something
Or you have pH lock out, which could mean a # of things. Are you noticing new pistols and grow at the buds?
@Zee no I don’t notice any new pistols. They have no signs of mold at all, but they stink like a wet mop when I put my nose up to the buds, but when I touch the stalks around bud sites and smell, it smells like some dank ass weed. I’ve read that could be normal. And I’m in another forum (rollitup.org) and some uses in there are saying CalMag too. I don’t have any, but if it will make a difference, I’ll order it and have it here Friday.
@Zee once this grow is under my belt, I’ve already got a new Flower light picked out. HLG 300rspec.
Without knowing the pH, and with no new bud growth, sounds like pH lockout.
Am Mr. Bad guy , sorry but if they smell like crap, that’s not good.
CalMag is not the issue IMO. Sorry man, plenty of others around who may chime in.
Get yourself a pH meter and 6.5 is your sweet spot, get some pH up and down too.
You have been feeding at like a 4 for ph. At least that’s what I get b4 I ph my FF. You gotta get that PH pen, or the liquid drops test kit from Walmart pool section. The soil you used is good with just water up till flowering at that point the nutes are basically gone in the soil. There are buffers in the soil but they can get used up. I skimmed a thread couple days ago where this guy @Budz said he never ph’s when using FF, or something to that effect I was pretty high when I read it. I just tagged him so likely if he can help you, he will. Or you can search for his topics and replies with the search bar. @Budz if I misquoted you I apologize, if not…can you help?
I quit even monitoring pH in happy frog. I filter my water below 20 ppm before adding nutrients and haven’t even checked my ph once in two current soil grows. Use RBs nutes, myko and tribus. Happy frog uses dolomite, oyster husks and myko to buffer pH.
I wouldn’t use ocean forest. It’s still best for new growers to monitor pH levels. One of my advantages is the tribus and RBs nutes. These two things keep me safer than the soil itself
@Zee @Docnraq @Budz I’m headed now to get ph test strips for soil and water. Wanted the meter but my local stores don’t have it and Amazon would take longer than I want to ship one. I use Happy Frog soil and the Fox farm trio for nutrients. I ordered calmag to be here Friday. What else should I do? And the test strips test everything. Ph, calcium, phosphorus, etc…
I’d add a silicate and some myco be it something like great white. And/or tribus. I use granular myco for transplants and tribus weekly. Granular innoculants are fairly priced. Tribus is worth it for sure tho, it’s not cheap. I’ve not used great white but have seen great things.
This is 10 days difference with flower flip and tribus. This is definitely 15% more than the mother did that’s finishing in other flower tent. She didn’t have tribus then. She grew… but not like that.
@MrDeeBaker, I wish you the best!
pH strips are for pools, not growing what we do. A few extra days waiting for a pen is worth it IMO.
People who post pics of what they grow compared to issues you have IMO aren’t helping you. Someone who doesn’t check pH level is not someone I would follow or suggest too.
You need a ph reader and pH up and down, once you get the pH meter, tag me, let’s check your tap water pH.
