Laser Thermometer Usage

Got me a laser thermometer today to check for heat loss around the house before winter hits.
Sitting here at work got me to wondering. Would it be of any use to look at the temps of the tops of my flowering buds? Has anybody been doing this and is their any help/correlation for the grow?

Thanks!

Lots of people use laser temp guns. It will give you leaf surface temperature. Helps alot when calculating your VPD.

@ReelOfishalTrees thanks! Didn’t think of that…

I have a gadget that measures the temp and humidity levels. Its the Sensor Push. I have it on top of the HLG light. I can check on my phone at home so I don’t have to go into the grow room.

Also a lot of those ‘laser’ thermometers don’t give a very accurate leaf canopy temperature.

Are there any that ARE certified for canopy temps? Just curious…

@dbrn32 might have a better answer on this.

You just need to set emissivity properly. I can’t for the life of me remember what proper setting is though. Between .9 and 1 maybe? Should be able to find on Google

Thank you.
