Old guy just starting to grow looking for couple of plants on deck in NJ.
Got white widow auto to start.
I have a couple different soils to start with including happy frog and ocean forest among other starter soil bought locally. Just started germination what should I start with I’m thinking a mix of frog and starter mix. I do have a green thumb but hate to kill things. Read a bunch of of info on forums but looking for help. No big expectations just don’t want to kill the girls before they get a chance. New to forums trying to read a lot.
Thanks bro and sis.
You should be able to start plants in happy frog without issue. Just check your weather and try not to start to early. The plants will be slow in cooler temps and you don’t want autos to stall during their limited veg stage.
Thank you
Starting in house

Welcome aboard. Looking forward to seeing your grow takeoff.
See the Grohood found you brother
Welcome aboard @StemsNSeeds !!! With FFHF and FFOF, some growers tend to do a layering. 2/3 HF on top and 1/3 bottomed Ocean Forest. The FFOF is hot stuff, while the Happy Frog is less loaded. By the time the roots hit the bottom third, they’re ready for the extra nutes. Some growers mix them together at 50/50 as well.
I’d stay away from local starter soils. More cannabis friendly brands such as Fox Farms, Roots Organics, Coast of Maine tend to have better results. You’ll be good with the Fox Farms. Also, with FF soils, you’re good with just water for up to 6 weeks.
Hope some of this helps. Good luck and happy growing!
WELCOME
Thanks for everyone’s info ten days in and no one died. Thought I’d start fifteen and get five. But so far need more pots for transplant in a couple weeks. All good.
They look happy
Just a bit of advice when you go to transplant. Get rid of the jiffy cups. They will not break down soon enough and there and good chance you could become root bound and have issues with root rot due to the jiffy pot not allowing the water to drain.
Thanks Chit that was gonna be one of my next ?s.
How big to safely transplant
