First time I’ve ever tried fimming a plant, so tried it on this gg auto. This is the third day after doing it. Looks like a mess to me. Is this what it’s supposed to look like?

What exactly does fimming do? Is it same principle as topping?
It’s supposed to give you 4 new tops if done correctly, but I’ve never done it before, so not sure if I did it right, or not. Looks kinda messy right now. And I’m hoping it doesn’t start flowering before it does whatever it’s going to do.

Yes.
FIM stands for “Fu@&, I Missed” It started when someone tried to top and didn’t quite get all the top.
It does the same thing basically letting side branches to catch up and make even canopy.

It stands for F*ck I Missed. And if done properly, you get 4 tops rather than 2.
