Im gettin ready to flip my ladies and im noticing this street light in the back of my backyard. It gives off a peach/orange color. Its Probably about 70-100feet away 20180930_223235|690x388Uploading… Uploading… Uploading… i took some pics with and without flash… they’re old streetlights and im here in hawaii. I just wanna know if its gonna be a problem in long run? Or maybe i can cover top with some shade cloth i have left over? Would love to hear some suggestions or ideas. thanx took
Flipping time normally needs total darkness with no interruption even torch light can be a problem.
I’m curious how you’re going to flip outdoor plants. Or are you saying the dark period is getting longer and you’re going in to flower naturally?
In any event, if you have a shade cloth that would block that light, it might not be a bad idea. Outdoors isn’t totally dark anyway. Bright moonlight, for instance, doesn’t disrupt flower or porchlights across the yard, things like that. A neighbor has a barn light about 150 feet away that didn’t bother me this year. It’s one of those 175 watt orangey colored dusk to dawn units.
Which always bugged me about how nit-picky indoor growers can be about a light from an on switch, but outdoor growers have full moons - regularly…
I think it has to do with intensity and proximity. I had problems with a grow once and subsequently discovered an led was on a defective power strip that let it glow very, very faintly when it should have been off.
Yea thats the same light streeet light old from dusk to dawn orange lookin but i noticed it had some light on my porch or top of where plants were. Think im have to cover top too…
Same thing happened to me. Oddly enough the ilgm GDP in the tent was fine, but the random pineapple haze plant went from beer can frosty colas to seedy mess within 2 weeks
@IslandP. If it’s possible to put something in front of the plant to prevent direct lighting you should try it.
I wish the fence was higheri would’ve been fine…im thinkin maybe lay some shade cloth on top
Would the plants be to hot if i wrap the top part up too?
The moon puts off a color spectrum that does not affect canabis (green)
I wouldn’t “wrap” any part of the plant. Think screen, not cocoon.
zero light…read stuff on this site and you will eventually grow the kynd.
They make construction fabric that allows airflow, but the black version would shade without too much harm. I think the ‘screen’ or partition idea just to block the direct light couldn’t hurt.
It’s like splitting the stem - It keeps you busy and cant hurt
Loll not like a cocoon hahahahah. I meant throw some shade cloth on top of poly roof i built
Think about that - shading the best part of the day from the plants? I was thinking like a fake wall/partition on the side facing the light.
