Roots look good. Looks like lots of agitation too.
@Bogleg gave me a good tip: let me set this up. Plants consume water and nutes in your hydro setup. Say you take data on your nutes on Monday at 0800 and it reads full and 600 ppm. Let it go for some period of time; 24 hours say. Take your TDS numbers again and it reads 550 and needs 2 gallons. Top off and add nutes to bring back to your 600 ppm. The data tells you that the plants are consuming about the amount you have set in your setup.
Scenario 2 after taking numbers on Monday morning, waiting 24 hours and you get: 2 gallons and 850 ppm. That tells you the plants are consuming more water than nutes and to reduce the solids in your solution.
Scenario 3: the ppm’s are 400 and 2 gallons. Up your nutrient load and recheck until you are in balance. You will always be in a “catch up” mode but this at least gives me a logical means to add or subtract liquid or solids.
