First grow here. Just over two weeks from sprout. GG4 from ilgm. Detroit Nutrient Company water only soil in 3 gallon fabric pots. Paper towel method for germination. Planted directly into pot after germination.Temps at 77 degrees during the day and 70-72 degrees when lights are off. Humidity is 70-75 %. 18/6 light cycle. Is this coloration a sign of a deficiency or stress on the plant?
Welcome @Grower_Not_A_Shower
is normal.
Looks like you are getting water on the leaves though. I advise against that. At least while lights are on anyway.
Thanks, yeah I just watered prior to this photo. I always knock the water off so it does not burn her.
Looks fine.
Thanks
Also I was recommended to water this 3 gallon pot with 1/4 gallon of water when established every 2-3 days as needed by Tommy the owner of DNC, when would I be able to give her the whole 1/4 gallon, im just nervous about over watering.
You can use the first knuckle of your finger to check for dampness. Others will pick up the pot to see how heavy or lite it is.
Starting out I used a moisture meter you can buy at the big box stores.
Watering is probably the hardest part to learn.
When I’ve grown in soil, I would place the pot in water and let it soak. You can see the water being soaked up.
But watering is really a learning thing for each grow/grower.
You will over water. You will not water enough. But you will learn along the way.
Hard to over water in a fabric planter. It is more like watering too often than too much.
For me, a plant that size has probably not had any water since planting. I start with the soil completely soaked when the sprout goes in. I then cover with a clear “dome”(half a juice jug). Keep the inside of that “dome” moist until the leaves reach the edge. The plant will get all the moisture it needs from the air for the seedling stage.
That is my method. When it gets light I water about a gallon (in 3 gal planters), painfully slowly until I get some good runoff. That works out to approximately every 3-5 days.
