Your close you want to watch the heads of the tricombes the round part of the tricombe and judge how much milky to amber you want depending on effect your looking for

My problem is that even with a loop my eyes are so bad I have trouble seeing the little beauties.

Maybe look into a Camera style loop
Something like this then you can zoom in and get a better look at the tricombes
I just look for a link I never used this one myself
