So folks, my first grow of the year has gone well. Now I am just starting week 7 of flower and I will probably lose power from the storm. Unfortunately, I don’t have a generator so I am up it without a paddle so to speak. My question is does anyone know how long established indoor plants could survive without light?

Days. I wouldn’t worry about a few days without power…

@oldmarine I’m hoping it’s not another Katrina, but that is reassuring that they could go a few days. I hope I will be able to have a generator by then if needed.

Looks like it’s a strong 4 today. I bought a generator yesterday that will push my grow room but I’ve heard alot of horror stories about generators blowing stuff up.
Everybody on my hill has left but me I’m gonna hang on and ride it out. I got about a week’s worth of gas and water so I hope it don’t last longer than that.

@KnUcKLzBcHuBBy are your lights on days or nights? If they are ON during the daytime you could move your plants outside after it passes.
We are looking at maybe long term power outages that could last week’s at least in the country
@2GreenThumbs i have them on a 6a-6p right now during the day. Hopefully, if I have access on the interstate I can get a gen. for the room. Another question, I’ve lost power about 8 times already, but luckily have it now, will this effect my girls?
@2GreenThumbs I should also be able to move them outside if I have to. Man, I was going to get a gennie earlier this year, but put it off. Oh well, lesson learned.

I would worry too much over a few days. The worst thing that going to happen is it may START to hermi on you but at this stage of the grow those nanners wouldn’t even have time to open and even if they did seeds take several weeks to form.

@Indicanna_Jones that’s great news b/c these girls are 112 days old and they are actually on their last day of week 6 of flower. Lots of TLC went into these girls.

Brother if your lights have already cut on and off 8 times I would say just shut it off till this thing passes, I still got electricity so far.

Well my neighbors roof is in my backyard and I’m not sure where my roof is, but judging by the amount of water dripping in my living room, my roof is not where it’s supposed to be. The window to my grow room is busted and the room is getting soaked as we speak. It’s like all of my worst nightmares have come true. Hope you doing ok @2GreenThumbs

if it can help you LAUGH at any of this to ease your mind some, when my eyes glanced across the forum topics titles, i THOUGHT, yours was called “A Grow interrupted” (like a parody of the movie girl interrupted). LOL, i thought “how clever!”
hope you’re able to “ride the storm out” without too much hassle and interruption to your grow your girls look VERY nice man. On the homestretch for sure. Most of all PLANTS, can be replaced, as much of a pain it would be in time/money lost but STAY SAFE because you’re not replaceable. Keep us posted

@TheVirginian Haha, yeah I did kind of notice that when I wrote the subject. I have a ton of work ahead of me. I have to break down 3 tents and stash 10 girls so the landlord can come and check out the damage. I have 4 other girls in week 2 of flower and another 2 on their 3rd week of veg.

@KnUcKLzBcHuBBy hope you’re doing Ok buddy
I took a pretty good lick. Got some serious wind damage to the roof. Ceilings are slowly caving in. My car is covered in power lines. Stashed the girls. It was painful stashing those sticky, heavy, colas in a dark closet, but we’re here to harvest another day at least. Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Good luck @2GreenThumbs we are still cleaning up from Last storm. Our home is fine but wife’s business took a hit. I hate to say it but when dealing with Mother Nature most of the time we lose. Also @KnUcKLzBcHuBBy hope everything goes good for you.

@Indicanna_Jones Much appreciated bud. Yeah, it’s gonna suck, but it was survivable. Now it’s kind of a waiting game. Temps have been tolerable and had only a light drizzle last night. Rain would be a coup de gras right now! Please don’t rain!!
