Indoor 4x4 MARS HYDRO UR45 45W UV & IR

Does anyone know if the Mars Hydro UR45 / IR supplement light can be used with a light less than the recommend 730w.

If so would I have to shorten the time they are on?

It doesn’t matter the wattage of the primary light. Just make sure you follow with recommended hanging heights and the space required per bar. Most companies recommend 2 for a 4x4 or 1 for anything smaller.

Sounds good. I got a 4x4 and only got 2 bars for UV / IR.

Thanks!

That’s all you need. I use 2 fgi uva bars in my 4x4

So you don’t use IR or high reds?

Also do you leave UV on 100% or just before they go to dark cycle?

IR is built into most fixtures. It has its place but I didn’t feel a need to supplement more.

I have ran these on the same schedule as the regular lighting for most of the grow.

No problem! Usually it’s only UVB that you’d run for shortened periods at the end of the light cycle. :call_me_hand:t3:

Good stuff. I’m gonna reach out to you if I have any questions. Sounds like you know the 3 UV stages.

When I get my light I might need some more guidance.

No problem! There are several growers here that utilize a lot more of the supplemental lighting than I do, so if I can’t come up with an answer someone else will. :call_me_hand:t3:
