Indentifying plant parts

Found this on my AK-47, what is called and what is it’s function?

Hey that’s a calyx, just shows that your plant is female and mature enough to flower.

Female calyx. Those are the first calyxes to form. Kinda freak ya out on your first run looking like male parts. They can get pretty big too and look like they have a seed, but they are normally just real swolen.

The interesting thing is that the flower we smoke is comprised of a collection of tightly packed calyxes.

After drying those tend to fall off and collecting them is a nice little bonus. They are always covered with resin so don’t let them get away. For me just a couple in a bowl is enough to get me happy.

@MidwestGuy, Thanks, VERY informative! I didnt realise that I DIDNT know enough about the plants anatomy, everyone starting out needs to read that, i was just checking over all trichome color not concentrating on the Calyx.
