Ok so, PH has been low, ive been needing to increase PPM to well over max for this stage due to falling PH levels, i think the culprit is silica but it has been a fight to get it to 6.0. my feed is simple GH full line with flora duo and hydroguard

its probably me… i stayed in veg about 6 weeks longer than needed and thats why i fight this growth

Wow it’s gonna be very worth the time

Why raise ppm to raise ph ?

Use ph up

If the ph is dropping bad it may be a root zone problem or something new added that is doing it.

I always had silica raise ph not drop it. Now I’m curious.

Hydroguard also whacks ph it may be that. Also sensizyme can do it as well.

I tell ya what. Grab a large cup and get water out of res. Test the ph. Now add a few drops of sensizyme and see what it does to the ph. Repeat this for hydroguard and for silica. You will find the culprit that is dropping ph. Probably used to much of something.
Silica takes 2 days to stabilize for me
Hydroguard I used once and stopped because of how unstable it made the ph.
Sensizyme I only use 2ml per gal if and only if roots get brown, which is hardly ever anymore for me.

When using new additives it is best to start out at the low end of reccomended and only treat the new water being added. So if adding 2 gals to a 25gal system just use enough for 2 gals. Dont figure to use enough for the whole 25gal system at once.

man im sorry i explained that wrong was just super tired from work…i meant im using so much ph up that its raising PPM, thank you for that very well informed reply! appreciate it a lot it actually made me think about things differently and when i started really noticing the issues…i went back through my grow journal and it coincided with my flip to flwr which at the same time i ran out of and replaced 2 nutrients 1 was going with botanicare calmag from GH calimagic and the other was a new bottle of GH ph up and im very suspect that possibly i got a hot bottle of PH up that was violated. either way im going to do what you suggested and messs around with a few samples of water see what happens, just ordered a qt of advanced nutrients ph up

Sounds good. I hope it works out.

Oh another tip. If system has hoses with water flow always check for a plugged opening or a dirty filter.
Most submersible pumps have a filter under the plastic cap when dirty causes low flow which leads to improper ppm and ph balance throughout the system.

Silica normally raises the PH FYI.

good to know thank you! , im trying to think of anything i started adding extra and armor si is the only thing new

Well well it has been a dang interesting week for me here in the desert , hit temps of 120 F yep things started to cook round here and no worse possible time for my AC pump to go out it was 97 Fdegrees in my grow room in no time, i have been able to keep my reservoir temps at a constant 68 F by slowly adding just straight RO water from a 10 gallon container refridgerated… just enough at a time to maintain 68F. So far so good but man it was a drastic temp and humidity fluctuation almost within an hour changed from 75F and 60% RH to 88F and 44% RH. Also i tossed the GH PH up and started using advanced nutrients and let me say im floored by the results i first tested a few samples to see the increase and in just 2ml it accomplished what 2 separate bottles of GH up couldn’t do with 100ml…VERY IMPRESSED! also more importantly its holding PH between water changes!

wow took forever but this just clicked with me about how to add new nutrients, thats knowledge right their thank you!

WHEWWW!!!..its smelling strong in here!!, On week 6 gettin rdy for the final push, pretty sure growth wrapped up but man the smell is super loud!..and things gettin sticky if i touch the plants without gloves on i might never clap again. Just finished a water change and ive seriously backed off on a lot of nutes think im down to just feeding flora duo, calmag and koolbloom…also not too sure im gonna flush with florakleen i know i have a brand loyalty issue but i think im going to flush with advanced nutrients Flawless Finish unless anyone has a better alternative. on another note things are still really green and im slightly concerned that leaves arent changing colors is that a valid issue with hydroponics?

I believe that has more to do with strain/temps/humidity. (I think)
Mine hardly ever turn colors. Hard for me to get cool temps. Usually green at harvest for the most part.

BTW what a load of smoke! Killer job there brother! Well done! :+1:t2::v::sunglasses:

If that light is set up under the plant it’s a complete waste of electricity: plants don’t process light from the bottom of the leaves.

its for all the branches too long for top of canopy i had to remove top trellis and fold then under the canopy it sucks but had no choice bottom im just out of room on top… seedling light is my sad attempt to save what i can and its about an 1/8th of the tent…i was thinking of removing it all to give more to the top but i think ship has sailed i dont want to create any stress this late, lol im gonna do it all so much different next time

HAHAHA! sup spy how u doin bro?..you might think viagra but in reality i think ive just been real lucky…these 120 degree days are brutal my tactics for keeping things cool has been insane. hopefully tomorrow after a month of waiting theyll be able to fix my A/C unit …heck id do it myself but the pumps are on the dang roof…this last month has just been brutal without A/C the outside temp hits 110 F to 120F daily and no AC with just port AC unit and fans only i can only drop my room to like 86F i been wrapping copper and feeding ice water through the coil and using a fan to push it just to barely skate by without going too far into the red …with high temps comes high humidity too and its the wrong stage for all that. its so backwards here, this is my first desert grow and all i know is i need to start in September instead of February when its much much cooler out and im not paying $400 a month in power.
