I have just flushed my GG4 in a 10 gallon pot because of low ph. Planted in FF Ocean forest.
Flushed with 30 gallons of water. It is just now starting 3rd week of flower.
Nutrients I have available:
1- Advanced nutrients PH Perfect
2- build a soil craft blend nutrients
3- build a soil top dress kit
What do I need to do. This is my first grow.
Lime will help balance pH in acidic soils.
The acid reacts with the lime and is neutralized.
You can top dress a few inches deep and bring the pH up.
While lime can add calcium and magnesium to soil it takes a long time to do that. A year or two.
But for pH issues its good and quick.
Also you might find this interesting…
I put lime in just a little under 3 weeks ago. Ph still kept going down.
Pulled all clover out of both pots.
What kind of system do I need to keep on going?
After the flush You will need to feed the plant . Collect run off check PPM an PH make adjustments accordingly on feeding.
Good luck
How soon after a flush do yo ufeed a plant ? I had a ec of 4.0. I fluahed it down to 1.7. Just starting flower
Ff ocean n perlite. 6.5 ph 4.o runoff. To. 6.5. And 1.7 ec now
I certainly did. I inherently always hated the idea but I could never articulate why. This is succinct and makes the point. nice share
What should I feed it? How do I mix it.
I have the advanced nutrients but I’m mixing with diluted water. Have to add extraordinary amounts of up to the water.
I got advanced for Hydro system
Ppm and EC is up there.
I would feed at about 800 PPM for now. See how the plant responds and you can always go up a little. I never feed above 1000 ppm . After you mix your nutes PH backup to 6.5 PH sweet spot before feeding. Good luck
When I flushed, last half gallon read
Ph, 5.8
EC 800
Ppm 400
I mixed nutes and water read/ without up.
Ph 5.14
EC 1000
Ppm 5000
I’m with @kellydans but don’t understand your last nutrient numbers. Are you using the feeding schedule dosages and the 500 scale
Yeah , (umho) at about 1600 would put you at about 800 PPM feeding.
I read how to mix per liter on bottles. Should I be mixing all three or not.
As far as understanding ppm and EC. I never heard of til started this grow.
Really I’m lost right now.
Was thinking maybe just buy FF liquid
I’ve only fed really once and that took the ph down big time so I stopped and added lime 3 weeks ago.
In 3rd week of flower started yesterday
When you add nutes to water it will drive your ph down you will need to check PH an adjust Accordingly before feeding. At this point feed Bloom nutes . (Less nitrogen)
Overall plant looks good you got this !
Should be feeding Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom and personally would mix 1/2 the dose recommend and as @kellydans stated with PH testing and the PPMs of the nutrient solution and adjust the PH up to 6.5 or more seeing as your PH is low. Soil likes a wet to dry cycle and always feed or water to run off to keep the root with a healthy supply of nutrients. Not doing so will have an accumulation of salts collecting in the root zone and bottom potentially locking out nutrient absorption and driving your PH down. FF has a recommended flush schedule and use Sledgehammer for this, flushing is one of the reasons I switched to coco and the ability to feed daily and to liberal run off without the exposure to overwatering from frequently
Mixing nutes with water, mixed all the nutes and have ph at 6.5 but EC and ppm reads 5000 and 2500. How do I get numbers down?
Mixing with distilled
How much nutrients are you mixing per gallon and are you using the 500 scale on the TDS meter?
