I'm old...and my brain is literally broken lol

So I’m trying to get this show on the road. Already have 2 LSD autos started in 5 gallon buckets under the lights I use for my outdoor plants that I bring in for the winter.
Will be getting the my real lights ((VIPARSPECTRA XS2000 LED Grow Light))
And my tent ((AC Infinity CLOUDLAB 642 Advance Grow Tent, 48”x24”x72”)) both Wednesday.
I already have my nutrients ((Fox Farm FX14049 Liquid Nutrient Trio Soil Formula: Big Bloom, Grow Big, Tiger Bloom)).

Problem is, I’m already feeling overwhelmed lol. Staging the plants to know when to feed them… How to mix the feed… Lighting needs… Keeping humidity at perfect range…
Overwhelming! And I don’t even want to get in to all the other measurements I see you guys putting up when ur telling about your grows! It’s like trying to decipher another language!
Just wow! I have worked in healthcare for the last 20 years and have a college degree… But my brain doesn’t work the way it used to and I’m having such a hard time keeping all this info in my head.
I’m already starting to feel defeated…getting old and having early signs of dementia suck!
I’m just saying lol.
So I’m going to do my best to keep up with all of this and try to get a good grow… But I absolutely feel like an idiot here.
Just have to say though that I appreciate all of you guys and how much you help each other. Please have patience with me if I ask too many stupid questions and still do it wrong.
I’m so looking forward to this and I love gardening in my yard… But this is way way way more than that… Thank God for the reward in it!
Anyway… Day 3 & 4… Priscilla is 2" tall now and Lucy popped up today too so she’s about a 1/2" right now.
Thank you guys again for all your help.

Hi im just wondering if u went organic would it be much better for u to keep track of things coz i know how early dementia can be i have a family member who has it and i know they have trouble remembering the smallest of things so im just wondering if jacks 321 would be a better option for u its more of a simple way then using the trio from fox farm .i hope i have offended you in anyway im just thinking of a easy way for u

Oh Lord no… Absolutely no offense taken… It is was it is… I’m just trying to have a little weed to smoke on … This feels like I’m having to go back to college to start up a new business lol… I’ll have to look in to the organic way if it’s easier for my rattled brain to handle lol… Thank you for the advice :v::black_heart::metal:

I would say the best way to stay organized is use a grow journal, and post everything into it. Then no matter what happens, it will all be here in a single topic. I can move this to a grow journal if you would like?

From there, get your space dialed in or have a plan to do so. There is a proper environment your plants will enjoy the most. It’s not required to be perfect, but the closer you are the better off you’ll be. So try to make sure you have the equipment needed to do this. It’s different for everyone depending on their climate and where they are growing. Some need heat, others ac, or dehumidifiers etc.

Next you will want to make sure you have the items required for your chosen method of growing. Media, ph and tds testers, ph adjusting solutions, complete nutrient package, etc. This again based on what you want to do. Could be a long list, or really short.

Once you have the stuff you need, just focus plant care for the stage you’re in. For example, your soil looks pretty wet for plants that small. For a beginner there is no reason to spend a lot of time reading how to get your plants to yield the most, yet just about all of them do.

Older retired fella here also. I am a firm believer in simple is better. I use soil. Recycle it in a big bin. I grow with basic nutrients. My humidity is always off up here. I dont stress it after they take. They tell me when thirsty. They get sick I use our old guy patience and try to fix. They die…i grow another. Becomes routine. Please do not be overwhelmed with all the fancy stuff. God had them growing long before that. There are many up here that can steer you better in growing. All i can do is support and suggest not to stress a fun hobby. You can do it. It truly is easy. The monsters you see can be yours in a year. This is 1 girl…20 gal pot…200w light. Dirt. Calmag/silicablast/flower fuel. Ph at 6.2-6.5. Love. Thats pretty much it. Stay up here showing what is going on and these folks will jump right in to help. Without a ton of technical jargon. Dont give up before you start…

I attempted to start a journal… Not much info in it yet but I started one lol. And I mentioned to you in the other post… I’m just looking to grow some smoke for my own usage. I figured surely 6 or so plants a year would do me… Growing 2 at a time. Nothing big.
I love working in my yard with my gardening but this is way way way more lol. But I hope once I get more comfortable with all the measurements and the foreign language on the forum… I’ll be able to enjoy this gardening too lol
You guys are absolutely the best and have no idea how much all this is appreciated.
I did d/l the photone app… And will start trying to figure it out once I get the tent and lights up … And I am going to order a pH meter tonight. Slowly but surely here lol … Well I wouldn’t even go with surely when it comes to me lol

If we were talking say … Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis or ischemic lung disease or even a COVID patient’s steps from a little cough to 2 LPM n/c to hi flow O2 cannulas to BiPap settings to intubations and 840 vent settings and adding so many ppm of nitric for expansion and chest physiotherapy and proning ventilated patients for maximum aeration… Yeah well then I’d be your girl… But holy crap this stuff is a foreign language for me :joy::laughing:

Wow super nice! I’m trying to enjoy the ride and I won’t give up…I might fail a few times but I won’t give up… Heck I’ve spent too much money to give up now lol… Thank you so much for the kind words of encouragement… That’s why I just love you guys already!
And like I told @dbrn32 , if we were talking cardiopulmonary medical issues and intubations and ventilator management… I’d be your girl (technically ur old lady but whatever)
But I have a lot to learn with this stuff lol…I hope my brain death doesn’t get in the way LMAO

It’s just new. Same to me as I’m either sick, or I’m not. But I’m usually just sick and tired of being sick and tired

I’m like the worst advice giver ever, except for maybe with your growing equipment. Mostly because I’m lazy about growing and have a been there/done that attitude. But I’ll give you some free advice, take your time and don’t be guilty of doing to much. You don’t need any phone apps or to measure your light intensity to have a successful grow. Watching how your plants react will tell you everything you need to know. You’ll know when they don’t look good, and plenty of people here should be able to help you determine why.

Do you grow tomatoes in your garden? If so…you are set.

I would also suggest getting a photoperiod seed pack. Auto is all well and good but a photo forgives. An auto is on a timer…grows smaller…and is not as forgiving to new growers.

@Storm Actually… No… I’m just in to flowers, i.e. tulips, windflowers, spider plants, sedum, hen and chicks, wisteria (which is a vine but I’m training mine to be a tree!), some stuff I can’t remember the name of lol, I love pretty stuff… And I pretty much hate veggies… I did grow two dwarf apple trees, one didn’t produce anything, the other did very well… And the deer really enjoyed every single one of them in one night… Little a$$holes…lol So yeah lol… But I get what u were trying to say lol
I was going to show you some pics of the stuff I grow outside but I figured I’d get in trouble for going way way waaayyy off subject lol
It’s pretty cool though I must say :star_struck::+1::sunflower::hibiscus::wilted_flower::blossom:
I’ve got a 250" screen outside by the firepit… It kinda rocks… And winter sucks!

Hello there, first of all, do as nature intended. Let those seeds pop and give them water when they need it. They will tell you when they’re hungry so feed them when the time comes. You know when your flowers need food, these babies are the same. Only difference between here and outside is your environment. It’s artificial, you need to control it and that’s easily done using timers. If your humidity is out you will still grow to harvest, might not be a bumper crop but so what. Big thing is to try it and see what happens. There’s a mountain of science behind what happens as they grow, getting involved is a great thing but not necessarily needed. Big thing is to go ahead and enjoy it. As for your memory, I’ve had a stroke. Big chunk of the right hand side of my brain is dead, it goes deep and it has wiped out my short term memory and chunks of my long term as well. I spend most of my time looking for what was in my hand 5 minutes ago but I still manage to grow some great stuff

Sorry, getting older stinks. But,some things that help is having easy regular things to do. Lots of good info here. My wife and I have been learning to work with her mental issues which are not severe but noticeable. Easy chores done th same way each day has been really helpful. She started with raising chickens. Now learning to cultivate.
That said growing has millions of benefits. My suggestion is use coco instead of soil and jacks 321. It’s the same all the waY through no adjusting strength as plant matures and coco means water every day full strength and the results are predictable. Lots of variables and potential problems are avoided and this creates that repetition that helps. And keep a daily journal and pics to associate with that day.

Amen lol… All day every day… What did I come in this room for?
Have you ever had to spit your meds back out cause you can’t remember which ones you just put in your mouth? I literally got in the shower the other day… But I’m pretty sure I was in the bathroom to go pee… Apparently I had just gotten out of the shower… My hair was still wet… Ya gotta laugh to keep from crying lol

That sounds like some solid advice…I hope I can remember it here in 15 minutes lol. Like I said… Ya pretty much have to laugh to keep from crying… Guess that’s why I am ALWAYS laughing lol

And thank you!!!

Get an on-line journal going here. Tag a few experienced growers. Everyone here seems very happy to help.

Post everything you do along with pictures. The folks here will keep you on track.

Helping each other is what this forum is all about after all!

My favourite is either taking double meds or not taking them at all :man_facepalming:. I find myself feeding twice or not all. It’s a proper nightmare, I’ve done the shower thing. I also get lost in a conversation as i jump about various topics or just forget completely :man_facepalming:. Everyone will tell you not to worry as they’ve done the same but you know they’re blowing sunshine up your ass. I laughed because I call it my broken brain as well.
