Sorry to have disappeared… Bad health and old age are rough on me these days.
Plus a house full of family, many of them are miniature lol, so I had to scrap my last grow. I had just put a couple of the Bruce Banner photo beans in a glass of water when things went a little haywire and guess what… Those beans are still in the that glass… And still not germinated. And no, it’s not ilgm’s fault, I just haven’t had time nor the energy to deal with any of it the past month.
But I’m trying to get myself feeling better. That’s hard when they keep diagnosing new crap that’s hurting me all over lol. So I have to decided that I need something with more indica and a touch of CBD to help with pain relief and inflammation.
Last night I ordered some Purple Punch Auto even though I said I wouldn’t do more autos but honestly, I’m am wanting the shorter grow time so hopefully I can do this.
Normally I’ve been doing all organic with a living soil. This time I went ahead and ordered the ilgm plant protector and fertilizer kits. So that means I’ll need to go with a different soil. Or I think I do. Lord my anxiety has really done a number on my brain! I can’t remember which soil I need to use for an indoor grow?
Was it Fox farms? If not what, and whatever kind it is, where do I get it? As soon as these beans get here I’ve got to get a couple going. I’d like to at least get 2 done ASAP bc my living situation may be changing soon and I may no
t have the luxury of a grow space anymore here in a few months which absolutely sucks! @Fiz I meant to let you know about the tincture adventures as well. I used a half oz to make it, and used pure grain alcohol, which left me with a few ml’s of tincture. I have tried to let the alcohol evaporate off a dozen times extra… And it still burns under my tongue when I use it so bad that I can’t handle it! Total waste of an oz. I think. I did it exactly as ordered but it’s just not evaluating of enough of the alcohol and I felt absolutely no benefit! Super sad. I suppose I will be on the search for a different way of consuming bc really seemed a waste of a lot of hard earned weed. I mean I only got 3 O’s total from my last two plants… Can’t be wasting that much on an experiment that might it might not work.
I just use fox farm happy frog, but ocean forest is a little hotter. Both get the job done. With autos, Ocean forest will take you to flowering before you need any nutrients. It’s good for around 6 weeks. Hope you get to feeling better, and things start going your way soon.
Hi I used to make it for fun didnt kniw its called tincture, now make for a ‘patient’ also used 1/2oz chopped up in this glass jar lid full of pin holes then filled with methyl hydrate stir for 5 or 10 seconds then poured out filled 2 them plastic sauce cups evaporated at room temp about 3 days and left tar I made about 30 capsules mixed with (safflower) oil. Report, slept better less anxiety blood pressure came down, the meds didnt do all that and sleep is the bes part cuz its a healer too
Yeah, I’ve never attempted to make a tincture, it seems like too much fussing around.
I decarb weed and put it in capsules. That’s worked well for my husband, and I take them some times too.
I’m currently growing a Critical Mass photo, I chose it b/c it has 5% CBD in with around 20% THC. I figured that would be really good for his insomnia.
Its so easy to do a “tincture” if you already have the decarbed weed.
All you do is soak the decarbed weed in ever clear for 15 mins or so and strain it off and you have a tincture.
It’s a little bit of work but I imagine filling alot of capsules would be also…
Once you have the tincture, you can do alot of stuff with it including let the alcohol evaporate and then fill capsules with the goo and tjey would be ridiculously stronger then capsules with just decarbed flower.
These capsules would definitely help with insomnia or they do me, but i tend to eat every thing in the fridge also, so that’s probably not a good thing
Didn’t you say you made some once and ended up just putting a few drops on some soft candies to let the alcohol evaporate more? Or maybe I’m imagining things… Again lol.
I may try that bc basically that’s just sitting in a dropper bottle being wasted.
Thank you… Unfortunately I’m not sure if this pain is going to get better but we’ll see how it goes. I was in so much pain I couldn’t even drive to my rheumatologist appt! Ugh.
Anyway so you said ocean forest was maybe too hot. I’m not sure what that means.
My beans came today and I’d like to let the germination begin tonight so I will need soil pretty quick.
So I have the autos as you know, and I got all the goodies this time from ilgm as stated above. So which would you say it’s the best option? I think I tried one of them once and everybody said there was too much “trash” in it. It looked like it had mulch in it.
I’ve not had luck growing anything yet. I’ve grown autos and photos, indoor and out, organic and with whichever of those soils you mentioned. Not one plant has produced more than an oz or so. I think I’ve gone thru 10 plants now! Don’t get me wrong, it’s all been quality stuff but never much of it.
I’m giving up on the organic this time though and want to try it this way again.
But again, I almost have up on growing once before, and I’m getting there again. I’m close to selling all my equipment and just going back to buying what I need instead. I’m beginning to think it’s not worth the trouble.
I did mine using the freezer method… Maybe that’s why it sucked idk … But my 1/2 oz was pretty much wasted. I’ve tried to evaporate off by doing the double boiler type system, I’ve left the bottle open with cheese cloth on top and a fan blowing over the top. It’s not evaporating down any more. But if I try a few drops under my tongue, holy crap, it will burn bad. It burns off some of the skin in my mouth!
Total waste of my time. I don’t even know what to do with it. But it never got down to a goo -like substance at all. It’s still as thin as the ever clear I used in the first place.
Hotter meaning it has a lot of nutrients that can burn a seedling. Some people put ocean forest on the bottom of the pot, and happy frog at the top, so buy the time the roots reach the ocean forest, the plant is older. Also, I’ve found autos can be very touchy to grow. I’ve had better luck, and yield from photos.
I truthfully haven’t had luck with either. I’ve been told I have good lights, good soil, good everything… But keep getting tiny plants.
I’m going to get the get some soil now to start these purple punch autos…bc I think they will be what I need for my medical needs so I can stop taking the meds. But I’m not going to hold my breath that I’ll get a good grow… Again.
So here’s basically what I do, and providing you have good lights, and environment, this works every time for a decent yield. You can take it or leave it. I keep this in my notes for people that ask me for a basic, easy, and cost effective way to grow a decent plant.
Get some fox farm happy frog soil, and solo cups. Moisten the soil, and fill the solo cup. Plant the seed directly into the soil (not very deep), spray a little water on it to settle the seed, and stick a baggie over the top to make a little greenhouse. Keep it warm, and it should break ground in about 3 or 4 days. Stick it under your light on low power, and don’t water until dry.
When seedling is as wide as the cup, transplant into pot of happy frog mixed with perlite, worm castings, and fox farm fruit and flower 4-9-3 per the instructions on the package. Then top dress with the fruit and flower after 6 weeks, then once a month after that. PH your water, and I do use a little kelp me kelp you during veg, bio thrive bloom during flowering, and Recharge. All organic.
I’m sorry to be such an idiot…i just went to go pick up the happy frog and natural their webpage was wrong and they didn’t have any in stock. So I’m going to have to just order it on Amazon bc it’s the quickest to get it here. And I was going to go ahead and order the ocean forest as well to do the two part as you suggested earlier since the one is hotter.

I usually have good luck with dropping the seeds on water to geminate or putting the in jiffy pods. I’ve only had a few not germinate. Including the last two Bruce banner photos I just gave up on.
But the ones that to sprout just about always get started out beautifully, strong and healthy. They just never get big. I seriously had one the embedded up being a bud bush. It was one bud. It was sticky and pretty but that was all it was, one bud. And I had another that had the middle bud come up and then got off the side. I don’t think I’ve had anything over 18" tall at most.
It’s depressing lol.
All of my plants have been under 24 inches tall. The two I just chopped were around 18-19 inches. I trained both of them, so they stayed smaller b/c the lower branches were shaped like an L.
The BB Auto I grew was 4 oz, and I know the Critical Mass will be more once she’s dried. Small doesn’t have to mean non-productive.
You might want to think about growing some photos (my CM is photo). You can let them veg longer and get larger and more mature before you flower them. They won’t bloom until they are under 12/12.
Next time I grow a Critical Mass, I’m going to let her veg for at least 8 weeks. I did 6 weeks this time, and should have gone longer.
Well the Bruce banner was photo and I let them go till they started looking like the buds were already drying on me lol. They get no taller than 23-24" tall. And I try to lst and I get a few more buds now but still, I seem to get these really light and airy buds for some reason.
I like to put mine in a coffee grinder and just give it a couple of chops, then I’ll throw that in a pipe to smoke on. And this stuff has been like nothing in there.
It could just be me. I had somebody tell me it looked fine but compared to some I’ve purchased in the past, my buds just seem really light, and it look light they have seeds in them but they aren’t seeds. I’ll grab a pic next time I have the bag out and try to show u what I mean. I know I don’t get any weight out of them at all. And I know that shouldn’t matter, but I feel like I trying really hard to grow a couple of nice plants and I’m failing miserably lol.
Like I said, they always start out beautifully, then towards the end they seem to stunt on me.
I’m going the ilgm old school way this time. Fox farm Happy frog and ocean Forest, ilgm fertilizers and plant protectors and some purple punch auto.
Beans are germinating and I’m ready to start over again lol

So the pics don’t really show you what I’m seeing lol. It looks like there are little seed pods all over it but they are empty. Maybe I just never looked at weed up close before idk. Looks what I grow seems crispy to me. Again… Maybe it’s normal and I just never noticed it before. It’s smokes good and I’m in some pretty severe pain right now so that’s all the matters at the moment. Time to fix the donuts lol
or they do me, but i tend to eat every thing in the fridge also, so that’s probably not a good thing
