ILGM Blue Cheese Fem 2018

Sprouted on 4/25. Transplanted into 5gal buckets 5/23. Waiting for at least another 2 nodes before I fim.
No nutes yet. Should I start or let them stabilize a bit more?

Cool right on
Good strain choice

Since the cots (lil round feeder leaves) are still in tact I would wait on nutes
Once they are completely shriveled up then I would start your nute regimen at 1/2 strenght or less even to gauge how they handle it
@1BigFella has some experience with blue cheese and may have more insight on when and how much to feed

I have a bunch of holes in the bottom plus drainage stones and pottery pieces went in before the soil to allow for drainage. I was going to use fabric bags but I need to move them around (out of sight) when my wife has company over.

Another bit of info I forgot to post…The white buckets are Happy Frog soil and the yellow buckets are Fox Farms Ocean Forest.

I have never grown Blue Cheese from seeds. I bought a 6 inch clone and raised it outside in the summer. I started all my clone strains in Miracle Grow Potting Soil so it had nutrients from the start. Grew fine: About six feet tall and very healthy. A little Scott’s bloom fertilizer when it started to flower. It was my favorite out of the six different strains I grew last summer. Got about 8 ounces dry weight because I was a bit late getting them started.

Great soil choices
I have used both of them and its good dirt

With those soils you do not need too much in the way of grow nutes
If you start nutes run em at 1/4 to 1/2 strength

@Growit. I have been using Happy Frog for a year in my grow tent and I have had good success. I havn’t used FFOF at all. I have seen a lot of people using it so I thought i’d give it a try.

I used happy frog for my base soil in my supersoil and as my top soil in my first grow and loved it
The last grow I experimented with happy frog ocean forest and roots organic potting soil for my seedlings
When I transplanted I switched to roots as I felt it retained moisture better and it drains way better than happy frog and ocean forest
I used roots for my supersoil base this grow and it is baking under a tarp now
I am expecting good things from this supersoil build

Hi there - I use both those soils blended 1:1 and have had good results so far. I use a seed starter blend until they are a few weeks old. I also layer the soil a bit so the new transplants hit mostly HF first and then the blended soils. I am still very new at this growing thing but I thought roots didn’t like light/white pots? Best of luck with your new strains! Jeb

Update!! They are growing very fast. The leaves are huge!!. I will probably start feeding 1/2 strength nutes this week. I think they are going to be tall from the looks of things so fimming or topping is in the near future. I also have some 5gal fabric pots. So I am going to transplant them and let them recover from that before I fim or top them.
