There are alot of lights that perform way better then the optics. They grow weed but there is better places to spend your money for sure
The Optics lights leave some to be desired in the efficacy department. It has COBs, which are great, and LM301 diodes, which is great, but 2.33 umol/J isn’t in line with newer standards. They are really, really expensive for what you get as well.
Fabric buckets, and a mixture of fox farm
Soil earthworms castings and some other stuff… 
I cover the top with hydroton balls to cover the roots from getting too much light. Then they grow up to the top, instead of the first 25% of your bucket unused for soil. Also keeps a lot of that green algae out, and yes I just cut em down

I can deal with small things like that, this is only my fourth time growi my. I’ve read about it for nearly 8 years before input the knowledge to work. There’s always room for improvement…

I had a sativa bounce off the light and do the same thing on last grow… I run mine with a bit of neglect and a bit of luck. It smokes alright in the end
