Hey y’all, I’ve read and seen sooo many great pictures and comments. I’ll have to be honest tho. I don’t have all the technology such as a grow tent, humidifier and things like that. I have a small room and a couple fish tanks in there which should in my mind take care of the humidity part, a nice grow light and some big flower pots to put my spouts in when they get little bigger. I’m gonna grow some of my sprouts lindoor and some out door. Im just trying to grow enough each year for me. With people putting fentanyl and other drugs in it now days I’m afraid to buy it. It’s not legal here in any form. No Dispensery at all so what’s a girl to do?
I dont use a tent. I will tag you in my journal if you would like. @Shellbell
Welcome to the community stick around with glad to have you.
Yes I would like that. Thank you.
A tent is only necessary if the smell is a problem. It will contain the odor pretty well and the reflective interior does help but you can do well without one. Painting the walls with gloss white paint does the same thing maybe not quite as well.
I haven’t had to call my guy in well over a year now. I try to keep plants growing in stages about a month or so apart. With a good harvest I can start stashing a little back for hard times.
I had a little medical issue that caused me to fall behind and I am just now starting to recover.
Feel better quickly
If growing indoors, lighting is often the largest and certainly the most important investment we make.
What brand and model is your light? Many folks join here wondering why their plants don’t produce as expected. We often determine that they simply did not have enough light to grow healthy cannabis to flower.
great place, new here myself, as well as new to my own grow
Have a GG4 auto going right now, first one.
Keep on Truckin’
A tent certainly helps contain the efficiency of your light, but you can definitely grow without it providing your light is powerful enough. Welcome. We’ll be glad to help you all we can.
It’s a 1500watt led. Right now I’ve got it about 36 inches above my plants. Should I put it on a timer or leave it on 24/7? Also how high do I actually need it above the plants?
What is the make and model of the LED? Unless you spent north $1000 for it, it is doubtful that you have a 1500 watt LED. Take look at the label, it should say what the wattage is. Don’t go by the name of the light.
Edit: @dbrn32 or @AfgVet may be able to better advise you as to how far your light should be from the canopy.
welcome to the community, you are in great hands here.
lol we don’t do that here
If you carefully read the fine print you will see that this is 120 watt light.
Despite the claim, this is NOT equivalent to 1200 watts.
You have a 120w light. Most add a zero in the model #. Looking at your setup I would suggest running at 100% and about 20" above the top of plants to start. You will adjust this according to how the plant reacts.
As far as timing, autos will do fine at 24/7 or 12/12, whatever you want. Most common for autos is 16/8.
Photo (regular) plants will veg fine at 24/7 down to about 12/12. At 11-12 hrs dark or more they will likely start to flower.
Lol like I said before I’m just winging it.
That light will support 1 plant fairly well. The light will cover a space about 2’x2’. For a decent grow figure around 35 watts per sq ft . (2x2=4sq ft 35x4=150 watts recommended)
Sorry for my ignorance lol. I thought that the 1200w stood for 1200watts. I’m learning something new everyday.
